Water companies are considering a system that turns sewage into drinking water for households in a bid to tackle future water shortages.
Water companies in the UK that could trial the system include Thames Water, Affinity Water and Southern Water.

yea filtered by the earth.I thought drinking water had already been through people multiple times already.
It’ll be treated and cleaned. What’s the issue here?
As far i know it treated and then piped into the oceanI always thought they treated sewage water and it ended up back into the normal water supply.

Woah woah woah just hold your horses there pal with that sort of nonsense. Also Santa isn't real![]()
Poo water comes in the a treatment plant and leaves via a different pipe once de-poo’d. Dead simple. As far i know it treated and then piped into the ocean
The sewage pipe work and clean water pipe work is completely different pipe works so i can't see how they could do this even if they wanted to![]()
Sorry that 100% Wrong,Also Santa isn't real![]()

Surely clean water plants & Poo water plants are two totally different places, Plus surely there would be no pipe work in place linking these together.Poo water comes in the a treatment plant and leaves via a different pipe once de-poo’d. Dead simple.
It must be i have nice gift last christmasSorry that 100% Wrong,
As God told me Santa is real

The water you drink already needs to reach a set standard and is closely monitored and treated to meet that standard.yea filtered by the earth.
I wouldn't trust any of the water companies when it comes to treated sewage directly entering the water supply lines....
look how they all skimp on costs, do the bare minimum and dump in the sea/rivers because it's cheaper than building temporary storage.
you really trust them to filter water 100%? what if they can get away with 95% and a few people get dheli belly or whatever.... if it saves a few million and they can get away with a small fine or whatever you know they would just do it.
before anyone comes in with "but nasa filters pee etc" yea and I'm sure to a ridiculously high standard with nothing left to chance to save on costs...
is it because its cheaper than building more reservoirs or increasing the depth of the ones we already haveThe water you drink already needs to reach a set standard and is closely monitored and treated to meet that standard.
Water based bugs are horrendous and I don't think they could get a way with poisoning the water supply of the general public.
Regarding the topic at hand, why have the chosen this method over desalination plants? We are an island nation (though we lack cheap energy).
yea and they never get parasites rightwater purification's a con. the birdies in my garden drink out of filthy puddles all the time, never bothers them.
There will be now. Big long poo pipe to the clean water place. Boom sorted.Surely clean water plants & Poo water plants are two totally different places, Plus surely there would be no pipe work in place linking these together.
