BMW and M Power Owners

Well someone has smashed a car into the back of my 4GC while parked on my street, literally the day before I move house to somewhere I'll have an off-street parking space, unbelievable.
Sods law, similar thing happened to me albeit not as poor timing.

I have provisionally bought the E46 330ci, MOT is up in October so the chap has agreed to MOT it and if things need doing it'll be sorted before he hands us the keys, Looking at the last 13 years of the MOT history it's only failed once on a broken rear spring.

Wasn't expecting to buy a car this year so exciting times, going to be nice to be back in a straight six car again, My only plans for it is to swap out the SatNav headunit for something with modern features so i'll be in that thread that almoststew has made in a mo :) and keep it clean and well maintained as its currently has been and enjoy it...until it breaks because 20 year old car and i'll be back here crying about it :)

Not to jinx you but my 2003 330ci failed today on... The drivers seat not moving forward/back. No idea if its the motor or button or what that has broken, it's been in the same position probably since the last MOT.

I'd worked ( /paid) to get it into good shape but It's always got a trick up it's sleeve!

That's the problem with these fangled memory electric seats, old fashioned handle I say! But yes, you've probably jinxed me now :)

My left mirror on my 2019 g20 330i wouldn’t unfold this morning. I had to do it by hand to get it out. It won’t auto fold and I can’t adjust the position of the glass either. The indicator light still works on it thankfully.

Will bmw fix this under warranty? If they try and charge me how much will I be looking at :(.

If you're under warranty then yes, they will do. Probably just a wiring problem to the mirror.

Common issue, mirror motors were superceded with a new part. Had my 2019 G20 done a few years ago.

I've had a look at possibly changing my 640d for a 535d Touring. More room for the family and *cough* the golf clubs. Are there any key differences that I should look out for?

Well, same engine for a start, but a cracker! Mine didn't have adaptive dampers, but still rode well. I think the 5 drives better than the 6 and a damn sight more practical, fully loaded with 4 bikes on roof, brilliant car.
Got a 2020 530d touring now, which does drive a bit better when you push on in the twisty bits, but down on power, which is a shame.
Had the 535d for 4 years and did 70k miles with no issues at all, but chewed through a few sets of rear tyres!

Is that down to a heavy right foot, I've found the rears haven't been too bad at all over the 35k I've driven?
