Should stop at the border for now

Agreed. No point going into Russia: it just gives the Kremlin victimhood narrative some ammunition to feed their bull crap generators. Better to flush the invaders out of other parts of UA. There's lots of territory still occupied. Regaining the coastline is important from both a strategic and morale viewpoint.

He staged "war" games the other day near the polish border lol

If Putin regime collapses he is the next to follow. There has been a lot of Belarusians who joined Ukraine in the fight and will soon be returning home.
you would have thought he would just flip and sign a non aggression deal with ukraine and make excuses that he withdrew his forces earlier in the war to relieve pressure on kiev

Ukraine certainly shouldn't push into Russia. They have them on the back foot so should continue to carefully without overstretch.

They should take back all of Ukraine including Crimea and then talk about a ceace fire.

If Russia is using Belgarod as a staging area for troops that it plans to send across the boarder and uses the city to fire artillery into Ukraine then Belgarod is a valid and legitimate target for military action imo.

If Russia pulls back fully from Kharkiv oblast and moves troops and equipment away from Belgarod then yes Ukrainian's should hold at the boarder but not before.

It is a legitimate target... I was meaning more that Ukrainians shouldn't push into Russia, but if Russia wants to artillery fire 'over the fence' so to speak then they should absolutely fire back, just not invade.

Do we think it will be over by Xmas?
Depends on how many more battalions Ukraine has in reserve. Good time to strike and strike hard before Russia can recognize. They have some 35k/40k troops commited to Kherson, another large group in the east in Donbas and screening forces around the boarders. If NATO can keep sending a new batch of troops every month for now until December that's another 50k that can put to good use plus Russia has kindly left them a goodwill gesture of 100's of armoured vehicles so could be. If and when it does happen it will be very rapid.

There is some tweets saying Ukraine has pushed down to Mariupol which if true means game over for the Russian's in the south, take out the bridge that connects Crimea to Russia and move west and sandwich the Russian's in Kherson and take back that nuclear power plant along the way asap.

Even if they are allowed to keep Crimea, Ukraine will cut off their water supply again and it will continue to be a millstone around Russia's neck as the place turns into a desert.

Check out Cyprus, place is prevented from returning to its natural state of inhospitable scrubby desert by enormous energy expenditure on desalination plants. Also Turkey built an undersea pipe sending fresh water to its half of Cyprus.

But Cyprus stopped actively fighting fairly quickly after getting split in half, would Russia want to invest hard cash into such expensive water support for Crimea while it's a contested territory.

Which Christmas? ;)

No, certainly it will not be, in my humble opinion. This winter is an ideal opportunity for Russia to really tighten the screws and weaken European resolve.
China must be loving it. Watching Russia destroy itself while hurting the west big time. All while they just keep getting economically stronger.
