Bakhmut is a significant operational hub for Ukraine forces in that region (though I suspect they've been taking steps to reduce the impact losing it would have lately) - so disrupting/taking it still has strategic significance for Russia - however given how long Russia have been grinding towards it though I'm not sure it would be worth the losses to take it now.

ISW has updated its maps to reflect that the entire Kharkiv region is now in Ukraine's control.

The blue shaded area is all territory gained

I think this is going to be seen in every town and village the Ukrainians take back :(

I'm sure Amnesty International is working on a report to blame Ukraine for it somehow.

Is that the same Amnesty International that has posted multiple dozens of reports about all the Russian atrocities since Feb, which social media driven morons all conveniently ignored after just a single factually correct report about Ukraine was made, that same Amnesty International?

I know people need their daily dose of hatred to simply exist nowadays but choosing AI as a target because morons on social media without a clue on who AI are, what they report on, and why they're impartial, tell other morons to whip up a negative PR storm is just another example of why "the truth" is always more important than the propaganda.

I'm going to assume you are on a wind up again.

Ukraine was defending it's land, cities etc,
Should they have stood in an empty field and duked it out ?

Pray tell, how you would defend a country?

For that matter let's see all these hospitals and schools that were fortified etc, I'm sure you have bucket loads of evidence to provide.

To be fair the report everyone falls back on was very bad. It ignored their own people on the ground in many places (so their head in Ukraine resigned) and produced a report that was apparently biased.
Ukraine were using acceptable things such as unused schools, but IA said as they were near civilian areas this was wrong.
The problem is they come across as an organisation that puts the good as unacceptable and we should only ever praise the perfect.
They in effect unwittingly backed up much of the nonsense that Russia were putting out.

Unfortunately as well for me, when I looked more into them I got that impression from lots of articles. Most seem to be about triggering and asking for donations.

I have struggled to find many recent articles bar a few again extreme cases.

A bit like Nobel when you dig in you find its not the organisation you think it is.

I suspect IA have damaged their good guy, take everything they say as gospel with that "report".
People, well those with grey matter, will certainly question more now.

Their report would be acceptable outside the ongoing war, were there lessons on things to encourage etc. But right in the middle it was frankly, dumb to put something out that came across as that biased.
Unfortunately I fall back on a point I made above. It came across very much as needing to do something to maintain donations.
