*RUSSIA SAYS SOME ASPECTS OF GRAIN DEAL NEED TO BE REVIEWED: IFX

Christ, what a collapse.
No local reserves? Intel from the west?
Surely there’s not that much difference in kit, training or doctrine.
Even with some western supplied kit.

Well this is quite a turn of events isn't it.

There's a few videos reportedly showing active air defenses in Belgorod but there's also a couple showing explosions so looks like there's some getting through.

No prospect of peace talks...they really are going to mobilise against Ukraine aren't they. Jeez...

Throwing good money after bad if you ask me, by the time these troops arrive from whatever they call up and train, they'll be fresh recruits with no real experience, and Ukraine may well have already pressured a lot of it's own territory back under it's control.

I expect full mobilisation would follow with even more support on kit and training from the coalition nations.

According to the BBC Russia's largest armoured vehicle producer has switched to around the clock production and their workers denied holiday/leave which would be a sign of increased mobilisation - doesn't make much sense though given the large amount of stock Russia still has in reserves and retired/mothballed stock (even if some in poor state) and how newer stuff other than the likes of the GAZ Tigr has been of limited use so far - hardly any T-90s fielded for instance.

We have (collectively) the ability to get some better tanks into the hands of Ukraine right?

you have to think that any new units built wont have their full capability to due lack of sophisticated components thanks to sanctions..they cant even put radios into new ladas at the minute on their production lines

and a t90-m will still fall prey to a man portable AT weapon...their use of tanks in isolation of other units is an operational failure that has cost them and they have not modified this tactic since the start of their invasion

and as more and more parts of everyday life become impacted mopre and more people will become disgruntled...at the moment its not affecting people ( apart from lack of consumer goods) but once people start getting forcibly conscripted for a war that has no ideological significance to the russians as a whole..people will start to get deeply unhappy

The problem with NATO/The West supplying tanks to the Ukrainians is that they are by their very nature offensive weapons and the Russians could see this as an escalation/Western agression.

Not a great deal they can do about it at this point.

Look at the Krab and PzH 2000, they're just tanks with a larger gun.
