Can't remember who mocked me for not having a driveway but I'm half way human (can only fit 1 car on), so stick it

E43 still cleans up really nice. I do love this car. Just did a basic wash and glass as the rear dashcam had fallen off. Interior got a minor tickle with the Hoover but I'm fitting this around my girls nap.

I've picked up some surface scratches, looks like a metal bag or something has banged against it, but other than the existing road rashes from my previous parking situation, it's still in great shape. I won't bother again now till next year I reckon, but we'll see how nice October is.

Chaps -- when doing the car earlier today I noticed how garbage my buckets and sprayers are. What's the craic on those things? I need a sprayer for the quick detailer I bought.

erm, your buckets? what did they have holes in ? get new ones? :D :p
Haha yeah I appreciate that was an odd Q - I am basically using B&Q £1 orange ones that you see when you check out. The grit filter I got doesn't even fit in there. I haven't seen any buckets that look any different so was wonder what the go-to was.

I use two 5 gallon buckets with grit guards. Thoigh have to shop around to not get robbed on price.

Just bit the bullet and ordered a Megs 5 gallon one for £13 quid from Amazon. Daylight robbery but I hope they're reasonably well made!

I won't replace my shampoo bucket until I see a good deal...

The ones I have are pretty decent and yeah compared to your average £2 special they are a rob. Think I managed to get two for about 20 quid at some point.

Clay isn't that abrasive, clay is great at pulling surface contamination off clear coat and ensuring you have a clean surface to then use a compound to cut away at clear coat. You need something that's going to break that coating down, and clay won't do that.

Ibe been off work for a week, this morning was foggy, and windscreen was very wet, as I approached car I could see all those squares on the glass but thankfully the wipers were smooth

Had a very happy ending to my keying damage managed to get an expert (with 20 years plus experience) to wetsand & buff & polish most of it away using 3000 grit wet n dry :D There is 1 tiny little scratch which is barely visible from 3ft away I can live with that vs £3K to respray the entire side of the car the so called experts wanted to fund their body shop for a week

He knew exactly how far to go down through the top coat & fixed the lot in about 10 mins then spent another 40 mins polishing & buffing the polish to restore the gloss shine :D I came so close to hiring someone for a full side respray so this just shows how important it is to get several differing opinions & always if possible get someone with a lot of experience in such repairs to come have a face to face look as pictures & video do not reveal the full extent of the damage (which is my case was almost purely top coat damage only 1 slight area had gone deep enough into the actual paint layer thankfully).

Has anyone got a "bar trolley" or "workshop trolley" for their gear? Came to me as an idea the other day given how annoying it is to pack my gear/lump it into the shed.

Can't think of what to call it properly though.

like this ?

like this ?

Spot on but I feel like these should be more like 20 quid rather than £110 lol!

Is there a cheaper alternative anyone knows of? Do they have a "more common" name?

Edit: Googled catering trolley and found one local for £25. Will see how I get on!

The missus's response for the last 2-3 months when I'd offered to clean her car was 'not bothered', until the weekend just gone. I think the fact vision out of the passenger window was so poor was the straw that broke the camels back.

Pictures don't really do it justice :o

I'm getting really fed up of the hose pipe ban now. Want to give both the cars a good clean.

Know the feeling. Both are caked and wanted to prep them for winter but not much chance by the sounds of it. If it continues will grab this or this and give mine a go as it a mile muncher so not fussed if it goes pear shaped.
