our supermarket ones that you can use yourself, well there isn't one for many miles , as I'm out in the sticks, the big supermarkets are hand wash ones not self service, which is a shame!
Yeah we could really do with those self service bays that they have in the states.

Don't need a jet wash sometimes, I used a hose in the past because I couldn't be bothered getting out all the kit and was surprised how well magifoam worked in a pump spray. Relatively easy and could probably soak, rinse, wash and dry in 25-30 mins and minimal tidying up after too.

ive just did a search for self service car wash
and there is one , not really local, but local "ish"
but i dont understand what all this means :

High specification 'Buy Time' Jet Wash. Six selections available.
  1. Wheel Wash
  2. Shampoo
  3. Foam Brush
  4. Pressure Rinse
  5. High Pressure Rinse.
  6. Hot Wax.
Minimum charge £2. Average charge for all programmes £5

i thought it was just a "jet wash" you can use to rinse your car off, so how is this lot going to work ?

also, id take my battery snow foam, brushes etc

so i can snow foam, use jet wash, then wash car, jet wash off, done

If it’s anything like the BP Garage I use from time to time once you have bought time those are all the programs available to you and there is no limit to which you use and how many times you change from one to another.

I usually go along with the following as there are 10 bays so never feel under pressure to be in and out.

Pump Sprayer filled with Citrus Pre Wash
Foaming Pump Sprayer for Wheels
Bucket, Mitt and Shampoo
Wheel Detailing Brush/Barrel Brush
Spray Sealant/Drying Aid
Drying Towels

Sounds a lot but if used efficiently with the mind set of a “Mobile Detailer against the clock” it’s a quick proper wash with rewarding results!

Broken record… but at my local BP :D It has “Turtle Wax” branding so I would imagine “Hot Wax” is what you would use after the final rinse before drying…

It will be one of their trade products mixed in and dilute, some sort of spray on shine.

ive just come home, and on the way back i found a local garage that has a jet wash "self Service"

its only 5 mins up the road too ! :)

i popped in and asked them, and you buy "tokens" from them

think it was £1.50 per token, which should give you about 3 mins

so 3 tokens he said should be enough, so under £5 and 9 mins of time

im not that quick so i may buy more than that ! :D

This lot turned up yesterday, will hopefully give it a try in the next coupld of days!

The tyre and bumper applicator is pretty cool. Top tip on taking your own water lol. Gutted paying a fiver to fill the buckets lol.
Years ago I bought a 25L plastic jerry can to use at the jet wash. The look on the taxi drivers face who pulled up the second I'd pulled into the bay when he saw it was somewhere between "are you ******* kidding me" and "I'm going to stab you in the eyes" so I never bothered again :o

What's the best stone chip filler please?

I have 2 close together on the front bonnet about 1 mm deep through to the primer. Paint is not enough they must be filled before I can use the top coat & pearl finish (triple layer paint). Struggling to find a decent filler which is premixed & fast drying!
