I never saw so very fast referendum in my life.
Hold your referendums if you will, there are more sanctions we can yet apply...
I was thinking the same thing. Love our national sense of humour.God, i love our country
It didnt happen, apparently "postponed" till tomorrow...No mention of Putin’s speech on the BBC News website.

We need to remeber that we are not the "target audience" for these "referendums", this is purely for the home audience. To give legitimacy to the conflict and the massive losses and humiliating defeats that they have incurred. They've been talking about it for a while, but everyone knows these referendums are just making a mockery of democracy. The result is already known before they start.
I think they think we put all of our faith into referendums for some reason, because ones that aren't rigged are usually asked of people, and that somehow means we'll believe them if they run one. Balmy.
Ukraine are probably going to win regardless because of Western support but I do wonder if we had the internet in the 40's would people be saying the same thing when the Nazi's were knocking on Moscow's door ?Lol full mobilisation! I have visions of that scene in the movie called enemy at the gates where Jude Law is getting thrusted into battle with a pack of bullets whilst following a comrade with the actual gun
Russia literally have nothing left.
They're probably desperately running around trying to find enough working TV cameras to actually make the broadcastIt didnt happen, apparently "postponed" till tomorrow...

It's a bit different though and the soviets didn't start winning until the US and UK started to send its weapons and tech to them as you probably know. I don't think Ukraine could have made its gains without modern western weapons and intel though.
Going to be interesting week, are russians going to comply with conscription or rebel?
Is conscription really a serious option? They need training and equipment. Both will require time the Russians don’t have.
My guess is it’s all bluster now.
I would imagine they're hoping they can do this over winter where not much will happen because it'll be too ******* cold for any war, it's whether Ukraine can push further between now and when winter sets that will ultimately decide if its feasible and obviously how the weather plays for everyoneIs conscription really a serious option? Me to . If anything it will do me a favour after the last 18 months of hell I have had ,nuclear war would be the icing on the cake ….with a cuppa tea of courseI hope @Rage1999 gets this.
It isn't an great outcome for the human race. But personal anxiety isn't something we should be having about this. That is unless you have skin in the game so to speak like the Ukrainian people do.
Being nuked from afar is the least of my worries at the moment. Lol
And we all hope it's stay this wayLol full mobilisation! I have visions of that scene in the movie called enemy at the gates where Jude Law is getting thrusted into battle with a pack of bullets whilst following a comrade with the actual gun
Russia literally have nothing left.
The Kremlin on Tuesday paved the way for referendums, described by Ukraine as "sham" votes, in separatist territories controlled by Russia that could lead to the annexation of nearly 15% of Ukraine.
The big picture: The planned votes come after Russia suffered one of its biggest setbacks of the war when Ukrainian forces started a lightning counter-offensive earlier this month.
Why it matters: The plans could dramatically raise the stakes of any future territorial losses, and could preclude any peace agreement that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky may find acceptable, Axios' Dave Lawler reports.
- Russian President Vladimir Putin last week promised to continue the offensive push in Ukraine, saying, "We aren't in a rush."
Driving the news: In a seemingly coordinated effort, separatists in the Donetsk and the Luhansk People's Republics proposed referendums to join Russia, with votes potentially coming as soon as this weekend, according to Russia's Interfax news agency.
What they're saying: "Sham 'referendums' will not change anything," Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba tweeted.
- Ukraine has said the referendums are illegal and most of the international community is unlikely to recognize the results of the votes.
