It appears clear that Russia do not want to confront the UK or US on the prisoner issue. Initially saying that it was a democratically set up court and a proper decision, the Donbas has been leant on to release it's prisoners of war who had been given the death penalty.
One wonders what the Saudis had to trade? Whether it passed the Russian Presidents desk?

The level of brainwashing of the Russian people here is kind of nuts.

Even the guy at 02:30 sort of agreed it was bad to attack but didn't want to admit that the Russian people were to blame and they should have to face sanctions.

 
I expect that the US response to Russia using nukes in Ukraine would be wiping out Russian forces outside of Ukraine and Russia territory - Ben Hodges thinks so too, though I thought the US would use Syria, by flying in a couple squadrons of F35s and blowing Russia to pieces in Syria but Ben Hodges thinks bigger, he thinks the Americans will respond by sinking the Black Sea fleet

I'd gather its not brainwashing, but they don't want to admit to the camera what they're really thinking afraid they'll get a knock on the door from the secret police. If this was done anonymously i bet at least half of them would sing a very different tune

The Saudis can trade who they choose to sell oil to. If they don't sell to India and China, then Russia can sell more of theirs as both are not supporting the western embargo. Its a smelly deal .... but pragmatic to get prisoners out.
