But they'd miss the breakdown of society where everything goes, is that lucky? Those killed by the blast will be the lucky ones.

If you're anywhere near one, you're toast. But many, many people will be nowhere near one.
And the non-localised food sustaining organisation that would collapse will leave those surviving starving. The planet won’t support anywhere near the number of survivors.

brb, off to watch Threads.
The inconvenient truth is that nukes aren't actually that powerful and that the Earth's habitable land masses are absolutely huge. South America and most of Africa will likely escape completely. India and China - if they got involved - would actually benefit from massive population loss. Sure nukes are good at taking out towns (or military formations) but most towns are quite far apart. The buildings in Hiroshima and Nagasaki were largely wooden so burned easily. It's very telling that the stone and brick buildings largely survived. And there aren't any Tsar Bombas any more.
One reason the nuclear powers are dreading the first nuclear war is that it will show nukes - particularly tactical nukes - for what they are.
BRB, off to watch The Day After.Don't mistake the UK for the whole world. The UK will be thoroughly screwed.
From playing many FPS they have a certain range they need to fly before being armed

It just looks like they are off for a proper old fashioned bar brawl!
I don't think we need much experience of anything to release it wasn't armed otherwise they would all be blown to piecesFrom playing many FPS they have a certain range they need to fly before being armed
Half of the Russian elite / politicos want Gorbechov dead, they thought he was a traitor. That's not true Gorbechov (how ever you spell it) started reforms and the ex KGB goons that he failed to to rout out ended up at the key holders again. With the aid of the old fart generals of the time.
That and he realised Chernobyl broke them and they needed the west to fix it.
That’s going to end well when they get to the front line
I feel sorry for them, i really do
That's not true. Granted the UK wil be screwed but South America will be largely unaffected for starters. Malaysia and SE Asia won't be the target of many nukes. India and China - if they get involved - will benefit from losing hundreds of millions and have no food problems.
