That was a bigger screw up but that was a long time ago now.
Considering we've been using a fiat currency for the last 90 years, that you couldn't exchange the money in your pocket for gold even if you wanted to, i do wonder what use you think all that gold was, other than it sitting there collecting dust and costing thousands to store.

This has nothing to do with Brexit. It has everything to do with absolute government incompetence.
You should've researched a bit more about that subject before voting for it then. Because the only economist who supported Brexit, in fact the one most Eurosceptics hinged their entire economic argument for leaving on, was one Patrick Minford, the same Patrick Minford who Truss has based her reheated, failed, trickle down economic model on that's got the market so spooked so it has everything to do with Brexit or at least the economic model that was used to con so many people.

He's been banging the same drum since before Brexit and he's still banging it now only now he's got Truss willingly dancing it.

While i like to see people taking someone like Chris Wilson to task i feel you're wasting your time as it's obvious he's a full time troll, that he's playing a caricature of someone like Alf Garnett.

There's a few on here that you feel, if they're not monetizing their caricatures, must have some weird stuff going on on their head to spend their time deliberately being this obnoxious character.

Really? Nearly 20bn of gold sold for 3.5bn?

The mistake is to think the outcome would be any different under labour. .

No one thinks Labour (or anyone) would stop the recession that's coming, just like they couldn't stop the financial crash of 2008 - not that that stops the regressive right blaming them for it ever since. What would be different with Labour (or anyone) is their response to the problem. That's what the people in charge get judged on. You seemed to be programmed to not look up, but *looks up* they dun gone and ****** up bigly.

Well the gold standard probably wouldn't have let them do this;

Money now grows on trees.

Did you actually read what you quoted? Because you've seemingly failed to even approach what could be considered answering what was asked. Maybe you should read it again only this time a bit slower.
ROFL, so basically you don't have an answer.

Do you understand the value of things?

And not doing that would've done what exactly?

Also yes, money does "grow on trees", it has done for the last 90 years. Maybe you should look into what a fiat currency is.

Yes.
I don't care, you said gold just collects dust, thus you must believe in browns bottom, explains everything.

Clearly not as if you did you'd understand why having a fiat currency for 90 years meant all that gold was pointless, that the only value it had was what it was worth to someone else.

There's a simple solution to this.

Get rid of Truss and let the Tory party run another leadership election for 12 weeks whilst she has a nice holiday.

At least that way it will slow the rate of damage they are inflicting on us.
