And if tories are destroying thier previous selling point (financial stability) it could be a devastating loss.

What's a typical tory voter? Asset rich? Good pension? Valuable home.
You've got life long tory voters saying they have to switch. They can't vote for her.

What are tories directly responsible for?
Borderline pension collapse, house price crash, stock market crashing.

Well played!

The only ones left to vote tory are the 1 percent. And the stupid.

There are life long Tory voters who are long term sick and also low earners. There was a BBC news report clip where they interviewed 3 people struggling with living costs, 2 of whom were life long Tory supporters.

She's too ignorant to care, as are the voting public. As long as they trot out the immigrant lines they'll get plenty of votes.

They will always get some clueless voters, but I honestly believe the actions of the last week have opened a lot of people's eyes and ears. Listening to podcasts and radio the vast majority of people, even those who were first time Tory voters in 2019 are going to vote labour in the next GE.

If the economy recovers somewhat in two years time this will all be forgotten, especially when the media spot Keir walking around with untied shoe laces.

Wonder how question time is going to go tonight?

Don't envy the tory member on the panel

they will probably offer up Chris Philp as the sacrificial pig and he will just deflect with the usual crap of look at the Yen in Japan. Then the question will come up of so you are going to let Rich people pay less tax while cutting public services and he will say something about Putins illegal war and something about this being starmers fault for spooking the markets and the Tory faithful will take a long sip from the Koolaid chalice while noding their heads and saying yes thats right, then something aboiut it being imigrants fault and then that idiot presenter Fiona Bruce will give him more air time than the rest of the pannel and baiscally fight his corner

I think so too.
Not everyone. But any average wealth tory voter who pays attention to current affairs/finance in an manner will be questioning this.

I've always been able to understand why many tory voters vote tory. Until now.

Soon we'll see daily reports of immigrants and asylum seekers on boats.

So Labour want to be in government but their potential policies (ore lack of) are not open for debate? I wonder why..
Not at all but currently a possible Labour government is at least two years away, this mess is unfolding before our very eyes so is perhaps more pressing, is more pertinent, is the thing we should be more focused on.
Its the only give away that anyone seems to want to reverse (including Labour) or are you saying Labour would put the basic rate back to 20%?
Is it? I'm not saying anything and i don't think Labour are saying much as what needs to be done to repair the economy depends on how much of a mess the Conservatives make of the economy. It's kind of hard to say what you'd reverse or even do if you don't know if the house is still going to be standing when you move in.

As much as you may want to run interference by throwing out the ol' but Labour surely even you see what a dangerous situation the UK economy is currently in, how what a Conservative government is doing is effecting people lives, for the worse, surely you must feel some compunction for trying to cover for this mess.

With fairness, it isn't "just" the UK. The Yuan has hit a record low against the Dollar too. But China is on the bring of collapse, so perhaps yea, we're not too far behind :p

It will be peoples pension very nearly going down the toilet yesterday that will have made a lot of their traditional voters take notice. Two years is a long time and if they get some bribes in before the next GE idiots will fall for it. Hopefully not enough though.

Either way whoever is in power Labour or the Tories this country is ******, Labour are going to spend a fortune, the Tories want to spend a fortune.
Neither have any real idea beyond that except headline grabbing policies that will end up going nowhere as usual.

That's a fair point. No party provides confidence of competence. I guess people just accept that they won't be as bad as the current lot, that doesn't mean they won't be bad.

Wasn't Blair trying to start a centre party?

Labour will have real dificulty trying to unpick this disaster in 5 years, and it will be 'all their fault' again.
