They are also are a UK based OSINT(AFAIK) account with nearly 800000 followers and have verified a ton of losses(especially on the Russian side).

Look at the pictures in the post:

They took the picture off news broadcasts(the National Broadcaster of Israel) which showed the wreckage:

Yes just saying there are people claiming both things, and they can't both be true, so best to wait to see what official investigations say. I think credible sources on both assessments.

Agree'd. What also adds murkiness to the water is that Russia is well known to use S300 missiles to strike ground targets.

But the issue is those pictures were pulled off the news reports off the explosion site,so I would say at least S300 wreckage was at the site.

It's also quite possible, that a cruise missile launched from Belarus was intercepted at high altitude by an S300 and the wreckage crashed onto Polish territory. After all quite a few cruise missiles were launched today. That could explain the differing accounts of two types of missile. But the S300 missiles alone are huge. This is how big the 5V55 is:

But either way,I wish people stopped about the WW3 talk. Because seriously I hope nobody in power would be stupid enough to go that way over this!

Measuring the distances, it is looking like it was launched from Belarus, which is going to be interesting. (If it was an S-300).

If it was an S-300 then surely the most likely scenario is that it is either a mislaunched Ukrainian air defence missile, or debris from a Ukrainian air defence strike.

Polish news talking about KH-101

But I'm more inclined to believe Polish sources that internet sleuths going off a few pictures.

will be hard to distinguish whether its russian or ukranian if its missle fragments from a missle Ukraine does use, but if its cruise missile fragments like kh-101 then its totally russian. If its S300 then it can be russian or ukranian, very hard to tell since its all made in Russia anyway

I'd believe that is it was a single missile but reports suggest two. Which suggests it was targeted, whether that is mistakenly or purposely, one missile astray I get but two in the same location... No sorry pull the other one!
The only narrative where it is not solely a Russian missile strike is where a Ukrainian missile did intercept and somehow against all odds and chance after striking or missing the Russian missile somehow landed in the same proximity of each other...
Ok so in your version of events Russia has deliberately targeted a field in Poland …… there are a million and one explanations that are more likely.

Oh and just to agree with others this is not the start of WW3 there will be no reprisals from NATO plenty of condemnation and no doubt more forces masses in Poland and hardware sent to the Ukraine but we will not be declaring war on Russia or risking escalating an already damgerous proxy war.

Yes i don't think we should start ww3 either, but it would be nice to find an enforceable way to stop Russian missiles from targeting civilians in large parts of Ukraine with this.

If NATO enforces a no fly zone on certain areas, then what will Russia be able to do to stop them? They can't match NATO aircraft, and the nuke threats are a bit empty.

Will have to see what comes of this.

No fly zones are unrealistic.

Best NATO can do is place anti air systems on Poland's border and give more systems to Ukraine.

The only way to enforce a no fly zone is to attack the launch site when the enemy launches missiles. Anti air systems are not 100% effective or economical especially when the enemy launches dozens and dozens all at once. Plus anti air systems just down the enemy missle - that missile is still coming down and will hit something and do damage or kill civilians - the only way to stop it is to hit the launch sites which are all in Belarus and Russia

My wife said I had no real connection to Ukraine, whilst she does due to doing missionary work over there years ago, and friends are under constant missile fire etc. I suggested I go fight, and she said I could lol. Oh man.

Time to fake your own death, I don't see any other way out of this!

I’ll bring the biscuits.

Digestives or hob nobs?

Both of course :)
