O11 AIR MINI, will it hold full ATX, 280MM Rad and veritcally mounted 4080?

I'm looking for a new case, and like compact cases. I like the look of the Lian Li O11 Air Mini.
I have a full ATX mainboard and a NZT Kraken X63 (280mm rad) that cools it. This build will have either a 4080 or 7900 XTX that I'd like vertically mounted.

Looking at the spec, I can only fit a 280mm rad at the front when using a configuration that supports ATX and vertical mount. I know it'll fit but is it going to be awful for air flow? Would bringing in air from the side and underneath the GPU be enough?

I've seen some people say that you can just about fit a 280 at the side.. but then this video suggests front mounted radiator (intake) side fans as exhaust and bottom fans as intake works best. This isn't vertical GPU mount though.

Just wondering if anyone here has done a similar build?

I've got this case.

I used to have a EK 280 AIO mounted to the front and have a rtx3080 trinity, it literally just fit, and it raised my GPU temps.

I have since changed to a 240 AIO and side mounted it, with 140 fans in the front, floor and roof.
System spec is
5800x power curve set
3080 power curve set
EK 240aio
My CPU tops out at about 73c but sits around 63c normally
3080 tops out at 68c but sits around the 65-66c mark normally

Hope this helps, it's a amazing case also

I have this case and learned this the hard way so you may likely already know this but it will need an SFX power supply due to the smaller size so beat that in mind.

That's the original 011 mini dude, the 011 mini air takes a normal ATX PSU

I'm now considering a custom loop to cool the CPU and GPU...

Kinda tempted to just buy the case (if it comes back into stock!) and see what fits (or doesn't!)

I managed to get one of these in black. Can confirm it's a great case. Plenty of room to put what you would want in it. The side mount for radiator / fan is tight if you want to put a radiator in though, assuming you want the front fans to be 140mm anyway.

Mine arrived too, and I’ve got all the other parts for this build; just not had the time

Note to those that buy this. If you are using the USB-C header, make sure it goes into the mobo in full. It might look like the connector is properly seated, but it might not be. Turns out it causes an electrical short if not put in properly which will not stop the computer from turning on, but will play havoc with things working normally. Issues not limited to, but including: bios randomly turning to Chinese, when in bios getting random lockups, when connecting more than one GPU output getting random lockups

Schoolboy error of course, but lesson learned.

Exactly the issue I had with my first one. As I changed cases quite often (until I got the Fractal North now), I had about 3 versions of this case. First one would short the USB-C, second one the panels was the old restrictive ones and the last was perfect. Just needed a slimmer case.
Mine would short if connected one way, but wouldn't if connected the other way (rotated). I assumed the USB-C connector in the motherboard was bi-directional and would work either way.

Me being lazy here but has anyone managed to get a 4090fe to fit on one of these ?
Easily. Had a MSI Suprim X 3080 12GB in it and was fine.
Used my TUF 4080 for a short period and was fine.
The only issue you may have is if using the adapter power cable, it may touch the side panel. Not an issue if using a native (more flexible) cable.

Definitely not bi-directional, but glad someone else had the same problem as me. Really annoying, but definitely lesson learned. Of course that you have the North, now I'm back to case envy, but the Air Mini (despite not being that Mini) will do for now.

Nice one thank you

interesting, this must have been a unicorn of a card. Or some engineering sample that Nvidia was going to release as 3080 super?! Didn’t realise the vanilla 3080 had 12GB vram

The 12gb had a slightly higher spec including about 20% better bandwidth. It kind of was a 3080 Super without the name tag. Or, it’s what the 3080 should have been at launch ;)

Would fit without front radiator. But unsure about clearance to have it on the top, even if using the offset brackets (not sure if possible). The O11 Air Mini would be either aircooler or 240 AIO, and not all AIO. Same issue if using the Fractal North. Fits the 4080, but with front AIO, won’t, just the FE. Top 240mm rad there can cause clearance issues too.

Well yes, I can see it'd fit without the front radiator!

I can't fit that 280 AIO at the top as it fouls the VRM heatsinks. If I had a smaller mainboard, it might work. Side mount is only 240 too.

Might ponder a custom loop, stick a 240 at the top and at the side.
