Good news for Scotland (and the rest of us)..

If she wants a top international job she needs to move whilst her legacy is still strong. The GRA and Independence court case put that at risk. Better move now and see if she can get a nice cushy UN job whist the going is still good.

Nicola Sturgeon was a hard pill to swallow sometimes but she almost always was for what was good for Scotland. I'm not her biggest fan but she is better than the alternatives available so this is quite a loss tbh. And the whole independence dropping off a cliff is hilarious its never been stronger but then the union lovers would say that.

..just not enough support to risk making the next election a 'de facto' referendum eh?

Support for independence is at it's lowest point since IndyRef1, but of course the seperatist lovers would say that:

Nicola has consistently been the most voted for leader in the UK with the highest approval rating for years, and has won multiple elections, both Scottish and General elections. To say many will be rejoicing is demonstrably false.

Dont worry I'm sure the replacement will be just as 'good'.

Personally I find the constant baiting of the First Minister akin to trolling. I’ve had temp bans for calling F1 team principals names yet I consistently see people here taking the absolute **** with memes and trolls and getting away with it.

Are you implying that there aren’t enough Dons and they will only take action on reports instead of being proactive?

The moderation team are only a small group of volunteers who have normal day jobs (especially Mon-Fri) and this forum has 1,407,732 threads. They aren't omnipresent. It don't feel it's fair to comment that the mods aren't tackling trolling when you personally don't report issues either.

As much as I opposed Sturgeon's position on GRA, I think this is a net loss for Scotland. She was Scotland's best chance at freedom in generations, and now I fear that independence will be shelved while her replacement grapples with more immediate domestic issues.

I am not thrilled to see her go.

How? She wanted Scottish Independence yet choose to fight on the self ID bill.

Salmond did more for Scotland.

She was trying to drive a wedge between Scotland and the UK on any issue she could. This was aimed at the UK Equality Act legislation. The ensuing block and retaliatory court case would have been balm to her soul.
