I really hate the click bait around 'calorie counting is wrong/ been lied to'
Yes calories aren't created equal, foods of the same calorie will fill you up more and I don't doubt that your body could better utilise some calories form some sources compared to others.
But where do you draw the line? People getting food sent to a lab to determine the the actual bio availability of every single calorie they eat? Current calorie system is still good enough that it's It's easy to count/compare foods and close enough in nutritional value.
A lot of people vastly underestimate their food intake as it is, don't need anymore excuses not to pay attention to it.
 
Oh it seems you do get some kick backs with Lions prep stuff, so that takes the sting off the cost a little. Takes a while to kick in but then it takes a while for the new member discount to wear off too, so it's not (so far) been quite as expensive as was posted earlier.

I will say the meals seem smaller than prepKitchen but every single meal is as if I'm eating a restaurant cooked meal. They don't taste / smell or look like re-heated readymeals (prepkitchen did) They look exactly like the pictures on the website and taste amazing.
I'm definitely sticking with this for a while.
I suspect weigh in tomorrow maybe slightly up on last week though as I ate my bodyweight in Pancakes on Tuesday (not included in this prep meal kit) LOL

This isn't tiktok.... :p I mean, this is a weight loss thread and it's about nutrition, you either interested in watching or not, there is no tl;dr IMO because if you have the attention span of a goldfish no one ever gonna learn anything..

Tbf, It's a clickbaint title and I think someone else has already said it's a silly video (I think theyt were referring to the video?), so it doesn't sound like we'd learn from it, so I won't waste time watching it... I guess it was if you wanted any discussion arounds it's points (Or, if it actually sounded interesting, we might watch), you'd have to tell us what it was about. :p

So, i'm almost 44 so definitely not your short attention spanned modern internet generation - cloest I come to tik tok is hearing my clock ticking away in the kitchen. :P

It's a video that's close to 2 hours long, my time is limited, I have work, family, hobbies - would be nice to have some summary rather than a post of a video with a clickbait title and a one line 'OMGZ - you should watch this'

If you want engagement on what you post, i'd say don't just post a youtube video, this thread has been running a long time with a lot of back and forth and not simply just - watch x, watch y - that IS the embodiment of the modern internet generation ;)

Now, back to my coffee, i'm tetchy if I post before it - which I just have.

Congrats, keep it up! I think I saw you post you're doing 50k odd steps a day in your new job. No wonder it's helping shift some weight. That could be around 2k calories burnt each day!
Averaging around the 30k steps (anywhere betwixt 28k-40k). I don't know how reliable it is, but Google Fit says I'm burning about 3000-3500cal a day. Usually walking betwixt 25 and 30km per day, but it's not just walking as you're also pushing patients around in heavy beds, in wheelchairs and moving equipment/supplies around. So you get a full cardio work-out at times.

Must be doing soemthng right as I feel a lot healthier in general. My resting HR is around 70, blood pressure 128/85 and people keep saying I look 35-40. :D

:D I'm 5 years older so definitely not in the tiktok generation either. Never even been on it but point taken. :cool:

I always remember Feeks thread about how he lost so much weight just walking. It's a brilliant, and I think underrated exercise.
 
Saturday I finally got my delayed birthday meal with some family. I ate ridiculous volumes of meat and rice and then we went and had plate sized waffles, with cream and ice cream. I hopped on the scales this morning, expecting very bad news... nope, I've dropped 2 lbs since last week! :cry:

I look forward to your book on this new found diet.

Definitely something i can get on board with :D
 
I used to eat quite large amounts every Sunday, even when I was dropping the weight 4 years back. It does make me wonder if there is actually a benefit to it. Almost like a shock every now and then to make it panic when the calories slow again?

There’s definitely a mental benefit to being able to eat what you enjoy and like. The trick is to keep your average calories for the week in a negative balance I suppose.
 
I've been trying to get my BP and Glucose levels down before I get diagnosed with type 2...Quickest way to get both down is to lose some weight. Only really ramped up the diet since November but I'm 3 stone down since sept.... 105kg down to 85kg.
But now my colitis has just started to flare up so that may put things on hold for a while.
Having veins in my arms and being able to see the ligaments in my feet feels really good. Having to buy loads of new clothes hurts the wallet... But going from XXL down to L and even some Mediums feels great. 36" inch waist to an easy 32".
