Try eating protein rather than carbs in between meals. It'll be much more effective at keeping hunger at bay.

When you feel hungry is a trained response. If you eat at 12, you'll get hungry a bit before 12, eat at 2 and you'll get hungry at 2. Eat between meals and you'll get hungry between meals.

The best way to stop hunger between meals is to consistently not eat between meals. You'll soon habituate to it.

Also to try some water as you might be mistaking hunger for thirst.

Yep. Exactly what this guy said on this evenings stuff to watch list I'm just going through.
Protein is indeed much more satiating than ricecakes, I assumed it was more nibbling through needing to satisfy the habit to eat, not actual hunger..
Ignore the clickbait title and intro. Its good stuff.
Great suggestion. I like Giles Yeo and enjoy listening to him. Been watching him a lot over the last couple of weeks. :)

Lost 2st and dropped from a 38" waist to a 35"/36" waist in three months by doing nothing but starting work at a new job.

I do 12hr shifts on 4 on/4 off, these are average days but some days I'm well over 30km. It's not just walking either, we're usually pushing patients in hospital beds around the place too, and if you get a larger patient in a bariatric bed (like the 40st bloke the other day) then it's a proper workout.

Also feeling a lot healthier in general too, just waiting for the flab to start coming off my belly now.

I'm not entirely sure protein keeps me satiated longer, but I have a theory around cals per minute (when eating). So... a Mars bar, 200 cals and gone in 40 seconds. A Jude ice cream tub thing, 70 cals but takes me 3 minutes to eat (I eat ice cream very slowly). How long I spend eating something perhaps tricks my brain into feeling more full. A small popcorn is the same, 65 cals but takes a couple of minutes to eat.

Also, just the size. So, a Mars is around 40g for 200 cals, but a protein chocolate bar is 60g for 200 cals.

Well there’s talk of the twenty minute rule where you start feeling full after twenty minutes or so of eating because your brain tells you that you’ve been eating too long.

Competitive eaters refer to it as the wall.

What do people think about Jason Fung? Watched a long video of him last night, and not sure if he is a quack or a genius...
A lot of what he says seems to make sense but...

That looks...better than I was expecting, can actually see ingredients and doesn't seem like a jumbled mess you see on a lot of the prep services.

What's the cost?

EDIT: Just checked - christ that's eye watering across 6 days but if you can afford it, I can see the appeal.

Fancy boxes don't pay for themselves :D

£560 a month for a touch under 2000kcals a day

I guess it's one of those things where if you live alone, want a variety of meals, hate cooking and can afford it then it's ok, but christ i'm not sure i could. We probably spend less than that for a family of 4 adults in a month and eat similar.

I think the issue is that postage every could have days adds up very quickly.

For me, i'm still hovering around the 98kg mark since the start of the year. A little disappointing but certainly through no fault of anyone but me! Friday night i was at a 21st and had 5 pints and stuffed myself with buffet and last night i had chinese takeaway (although i'm blaming my wife for that)

It's only the fact i did a 4hr bike ride yesterday that's counteracted it i think!

I'm kind of hoping that 3 months in Spain results in a decent drop. We're going to be in the middle of nowhere, so no corner shops to pop into for sweets/chocolate and we're pretty good when doing the main actual shop, along with no takeaways when laziness strikes. Combined with more outdoor activities/a more active lifestyle.

Understandable comments on price.
There are other mitigating factors that may influence your choices too.
Maybe you have a partner that doesn't share your journey or worse, actively tried to sabotage your results by sticking a curry under your nose and saying "shall we go to the pub tonight dear. Hopefully only subconsciously!!!

At the end of the day it a means to an end, not a life long commitment.
How many here have spaffed thousands on gear, watches, clothes to elicit the same end goal..
There is more, but my lunch break is over :o
