I grew up as an ex-pat and have travelled far and wide for work and pleasure. I’ve never been a backpacker, but I have spent time with the locals in both very rich and very poor places. What I have learned is that 99.9% of the planets population are just trying to live life in the best way they can. That’s why I don’t mind immigration and I’d readily swap some of our natives for ”better people” from elsewhere

. Also England although scenic is nothing special when it comes to natural beauty, there are many other places that are truly “awesome”.

Once upon a time we’d hankered after renting out CO Towers and spending 3 or 4 years renting places in Portugal, Spain, Italy and Greece moving every 6 months or so and making a profit, however that dream was stolen by the Brexit frothers and part of the reason I will never forgive them!
As they say, travel is the one thing that costs you money but makes you richer.
