Anywhere I want. Who the **** says I'm not allowed to go where I want on this planet
possibly a secluded part of menorca
@Mrwong please expand on why northern europe is too broken for you ?
yep that would do nicely. I have been there in many years ago. my mate owns a place on Majorca which is really nice (away from the touristy places) but I would go quieter still.Going to Cala'N Forcat in a months time

One can dream. (it will likely never happen for me).
No, you cannot just turn up and live in a British Overseas Territory.Ascension Island. Peaceful, isolated, fairly warm year round, dryish climate.
It's part of the UK, so we should just be able to turn up?
What's the point of them being part of UK then. Same as commonwealth, no advantage to it.No, you cannot just turn up and live in a British Overseas Territory.
Yeah, what's the point. Why have an overseas territory if British people can't just emigrate there, right? What's the point of them being part of UK then. Same as commonwealth, no advantage to it.
Exactly, it's the same as stopping people going to Wales or Scotland. We're all the same group, they should be able to come here and we go there.Yeah, what's the point. Why have an overseas territory if British people can't just emigrate there, right?
depending on your circumstances alas it's not so easy now. I don't know the exact details but I think my mate can only spend 3 months there in 1 go now and a max of 6 months a year.I could, we could sell our house, we have massive savings and our pensions but we have too much commitment in England with family.
Back in 2020 my mate moved to Mazzarone but they had got no family to worry about and every day they post pictures I'm jealous of.
I'd be content with living in one of those £20,000 two bedroom type static caravans in Benidorm like you see on Britains Abroad.

it's not a problem for him as he still works but I think it's affected his parents quite a bit (they are retired so spend a lot of time out there)

Cornwall is really nice. problem with it is the weather is such a mixed bag and there are just too many people and the roads are horrendous. I know even around Spain etc if you go the the obvious tourist places it's even more heaving .... but with a bit of local know how it's still possible to find unspoiled places. this may be true in Cornwall too but not as much imoTbh, I’d rather move to Cornwall than another country.
Tbh, I’d rather move to Cornwall than another country.
