Try disabling Ethernet power saving in your bios - it's related to the issue, the issue is that the Ethernet port is going to sleep when it shouldn't be and then sometimes also not waking up. It's a hardware flaw so Intel can't easily fix it, the hardware flaw makes the Ethernet port incompatible with the standardised Ethernet power saving standards

You could also switch to wifi or buy an PCIE Ethernet network card. Either will fix the issue as well

That's disappointing. I'm in the process of preparing the parts I want for my new build and that's the board I was planning to go for. I use Ethernet to connect as we have Ethernet ports in all the rooms with our house being a new build with FTTP. Is this issue specific to this motherboard or is there a wider issue with X670 boards?

It's an issue with specific Intel 2.5Gb Network chips - i225 was the first chip with issues that was essentially abandoned, the revised model i226 also has some issues and there have been a couple of different minor revisions to that model.

Even add-in cards using Intel 2.5Gb chips have had similar issues

Will disabling it affect wake on lan in anyway as that is something I really need to work.?

Thanks for the info @Armageus

I better do a bit of research into this then. It's not a dealbreaker if I have to fall back on WiFi, but my office is quite some distance from the router so there is a noticeable drop in internet speed and consistency as a result when using wireless. I'll look into it more :)

Just checked specs of my current B550 motherboard and that is using Intel® I225-V 2.5Gb Ethernet and I’m not having any issues with it at all.
I have it connected to Zyxel 2.5Gb switch.

Shouldn't affect it - it's more to do with power saving when it thinks the connection is idle

Manually forcing gigabit speed can help in some cases (assuming you don't need to connect at 2.5Gb)

Alternatively dropping in a none-Intel card is relatively cheap if you do need 2.5Gb
My basket at OcUK:

Total: £32.99 (includes delivery: £4.00)

It doesn't effect every motherboard/configuration, and as above there have been a couple of different revisions to the chip, which may have helped (but don't solve the issues in all circumstances)

Think I would get USB C to 2.5G Network Adapter for ~£20-30.

I got one of those and it works fine on everything I tried it even iPad Pro.
I think I paid £18 for it about 2 years ago.

This is too difficult. I currently have a 5600X/3080.

Trying to decide between upgrading to 5800x3d or 7800x3d as they both have a huge gain for Tarkov. Net upgrade cost would be about £800-850 for going AM5 (will sell old PC less graphics card), vs the £300 for a 5800x3d.

Is there a good source for seeing the gaming benchmarks for all 3 together? Anywhere I’ve looked I don’t see the 5600x still appearing and have to look in more than one place.

I don’t do well with choice
