I dont have the chip personally, but try this ( step-by-step near bottom of page )

I have done it. In Device Manager/System:
-AMD 3D V-Cache Performance Optimizer
-AMD Crash Defender
-AMD GPIO Controller
-AMD GPIO Controller
-AMD GPIO Controller
-AMD PPM Provisioning File
-AMD SMBus

Should AMD I2C Controller show up?

Greetings

The ASUS B650E-E is a great value motherboard. I had it on order but cancelled it a few days ago when I found out it has the incredibly buggy Intel I225-V ethernet controller. I'm too worried I will be stuck with a £300+ motherboard with no working ethernet that I cannot return. Hope it works out for you!
is this intel ethernet problem still an area of concern? i really havent noticed. i'm doing my first upgrade in over 10 years. i should stay away from them all with that? i dont really see posts on ocuk forums complaining about it

My x670e uses this Ethernet: 1 x Intel® 2.5Gb Ethernet
ASUS LANGuard

And it works fine, haven't noticed any connection issues

I think the problem only occurs on some board due to the exact revision of port used. In any case we know you permanently avoid the issue by going into your bios and disable the Ethernet power saving feature - once power saving is disabled it completely fixes the issues on motherboards that were getting connection issues

So I would not even worry about it because even if it happens to you, the fix is so easy

Is this setup process still required for the 7800X3D as it shouldn't be parking any cores and not needing Xbox game bar to be enabled?

It’s not a guaranteed fix based from what i’ve read. At least on AM5 with certain routers. Sure, it’s fine in most cases but not worth the risk to me.

I will be. I’ll more than likely flash the bios before installing the chip.
Sounds good. I'll do that then.

DPD are set to deliver before 1100hrs. I've got to be elsewhere this morning. But, I wonder how Royal Mail are doing after the Easter holidays? Only saying because the heat paste is currently inbound with them.

Either way.. All good. Patience is key. :)

Im running an Asus ROG Strix X670E-F and can confirm this ethernet is super buggy, it disables its self at random times and won't re-enable untill its rebooted. Wasn't aware of this issue till these posts.

Try disabling Ethernet power saving in your bios - it's related to the issue, the issue is that the Ethernet port is going to sleep when it shouldn't be and then sometimes also not waking up. It's a hardware flaw so Intel can't easily fix it, the hardware flaw makes the Ethernet port incompatible with the standardised Ethernet power saving standards

You could also switch to wifi or buy an PCIE Ethernet network card. Either will fix the issue as well
