Oh dear, unacceptable PC performance according to PC Gamer (tested on two machines with Nvidia cards):

The game is good though, but poor performance on PC is becoming a trend.

Sounds like shader compilation and traversal stutter.

UE4 so unless the devs aren't lazy, then this is 100% expected now :/

Even worse stuttering than the first one (which was a stuttering hallmark in PC gaming history) apparently. That's pretty sad. Guess I'll have to see if tweaking it with unreal unlocker can help just like it did for FO. Also like the first one, expect no real fix if this is how they ship. From the documentary of the first one it seemed like the programming wing of Respawn for these Jedi games was pretty weak, guess it still is.

The first game had no stutters at all when I played it the other week, so they must have patched it at some point. It was what i would call a flawless game, frametime flatter than Kiera Knightley.

A nice comparison between the two games (spoiler-free)

On PC? No chance. There's fixed location traversal stutters as they relate to the asset streaming systems in the game.
If you look at it from https://youtu.be/Y4jqjCIvkZs?t=10040 (2:47:20 -> 2:47:26 as you traverse through the zones on the roots-trunk (?)) that's an example of a zone transition where there's a repeatable stutter section. But there's lots of these zones in the game because it's due to how they choose to handle the asset swapping for each "zone" (by that I mean in a technical sense, not zone as in the planet etc.) You can run through the zones (Kashyyk has the most obvious ones) and record your frametime graph, you'll see it's there. :)

Yes PC, I can confirm that when I played it for about 2 hours that there were no stutters at all.

Yeah you start off on the planet/station (forgot what it's called :o) then end up on the planet outdoors, saw no issues in either.

Just a warning, don't even try playing this unless you have the latest and greatest CPUs. 12700k and upwards on the side of intel, zen 4 3d on the side of AMD.

I warned you :D

The console version had performance issues too but patch 1.02 fixed them, the patch is said to be coming to PC too so hopefully that's a day 1 patch lol. Beta testers will let us know :p
