Watching the video if the translation is accurate it is 3km2 and 500 men lost (killed, wounded and captured not all killed).

Interesting that both Girkin and Prigozhin are repeating that the war is likely lost though I suspect their motivations are from the perspective of thinking Putin/Russian government isn't doing enough rather than necessarily reflecting Ukraine's successes. (And as some have commented on Prigozhin likely isn't far from Putin's leash still - likely most of what he is saying is sanctioned).
The war they're talking about is uniting the Slavs, that's squarely dead and their audience is going to start becoming a bit more unhinged/looking inward for fault so they're trying to cover themselves whilst not actually doing anything tangible to avoid retribution from the inner circle. Doesn't seem tenable to me though that they'd merely accept such small pickings with the immense losses they can never replace no matter how much they pretend to not know about their industrial capacity.

Of course the more focused they become on ensuring their own safety the less resources they have to put into the war, maybe they're all the same page and this is all just theatre to keep depleting their rabid fanbase but I'm not so sure about that personally as someone has to take the blame at some point. I wonder whether Putin is more terrified of keeping the war going or stopping it?

The only Russian tank present at today’s Victory Day parade in Moscow was a single T-34.
A SINGLE T-34...

The T34.... Was developed in Ukraine

It is interesting, they apparently had tanks at parades in other cities and they could have had a bunch of tanks in Moscow too... but obvs are stretched and so higly unlikely to be able to match previous parades.

This is deliberate signaling by Putin, emphasizing to the public that they're throwing everything they can into Ukraine. He knows there's likely going to be bad news for his invasion in the near future, I guess trying to scrape together as many working and non-deployed tanks as possible for a parade would perhaps be worse for him PR wise, they take some losses in the coming weeks and the accusation gets thrown around that he didn't fully commit to the war or something.

Also if they had scraped together a bunch of tanks it would likely be rather old ones that aren't obviously museum pieces like that lone tank + maybe the prototype thing they sometimes wheel out and that could be more embarrassing too.

The one thing they were really missing are all the NATO tanks they say are fighting them, surely they'd have loved to show them off at a parade if they'd captured them?

Kinda awkward for those vatniks who saw Russian wrecks in their little Western hidey holes.

It's always a bit annoying being America's shield in occasions where it's politically awkward for them to do something, but whatever as long as Ukraine gets what they need.

Pay back for them bailing us out with missing capabilities time after time due to cuts cuts and more cuts.

I believe they do yes, but peace time production is typically low for most items, just enough to replace stuff going out of date and being used in training.

Manufacturing stopped years ago, around 2009 I believe. But I also think I recently read the pentagon has asked Lockheed to start manufacturing back up

Yeah but thats how these things go. They dont actually produce 10 a month or something.
Was the same with Stingers. Except the production line was like 40 years old and a genuine risk to life!

They tend to batch produce eg 1000 every 10 years. I think often the assumption is by the time they need more then its likely superceeded anyway.

They tend to store the tooling etc until something is technically obsolete. So they can fire up the line fairly quickly when/if needed.
If the tooling is there then technically its in production even if output is zero.
