Russian scientists who work on Russias hypersonic programs have issued an open letter asking the Kremlin to please stop arresting them and putting their colleagues in jail, otherwise they say development of research will be stopped

Let's not forget, some months ago Russia came out and proudly announced to the world that it had destroyed 4 HIMARS systems. Just one problem, this was a few weeks before they were even in country.

This is random without context, what do you mean?

US communications to nuclear capable forces, today using a designation of radiation - which given the context is a bit of a poor choice.

There is a Boeing E-6B Mercury up over the US so probably relaying updates to ships or subs.

The information is really murky - everything I've seen so far makes me doubt that any part of the system was hit by debris, cruise missile (Kinzhal or otherwise) or drone. Personally I'm leaning towards a launch failure IIRC they were 1-2 short of a full unload from the footage we've seen as well.

CNN is now saying the part of the patriot system that sustained minor damage was one of its power generators and nothing else was damaged. They also say the damage was minor enough that the system never went offline and continues to fully operate. They are still trying to assess what happened; they say there is no evidence that a missile hit the generator, they are considering that possible debris may have hit the generator and "other options"

Maybe it is just a system failure - maybe the generator overheated or a component inside it blew up. Either way so far there is no evidence that any Russian missile hit any of the Patriots parts

bri didn't say any of what you're posting, you're trying to suggest he meant military buildings when it's clear he doesn't. He's talking about government buildings, not specifically directly involved with the military, and saying people should be scared to go to work incase they get killed. Can you please be honest in what you're posting.

His post

Suffering privately, yes, that's not the suffering I'm talking about.

Time to hit the Government buildings, anywhere there is an official presence.

I'm not for hitting civillians, just government targets all over Russia.

And yes if their is any workers in the buildings then yes they are collateral damage.

I'm sure it wouldn't take long before they refuse to go to work for fear of being bombed.

Russia isn't suffering anywhere near the scale Ukraine has not even close.

This war needs to be on their doorstep before they step in to stop it.

He clearly said he's not for hitting civilians but you will have civilians working at all government buildings. Again its war, don't want your civilians getting killed, don't invaded your neighbours. Ukraine shouldn't have to follow different rules of war to other nations.

Wreckage of a downed Russian Lancet missile:

I can't see any obvious bullet holes or burn marks on it so not quite sure how they took it out (GPS jamming?) but given it's relatively intact it's a good oppatunity to look at the electronics and find out where Russia is sourcing these from.

Looks like a couple of failed launches overnight resulted in two rockets landing in Belgorod. One was captured on video, the rocket goes up and after 4 seconds it breaks into two pieces and comes down

What's left of the VDV is in retreat at Bakhmut

Prigozhin of course is very unhappy, claims that Russian "elite soldiers" are losing territory his conscript convicts died to capture

Must be a in a very bad way if the VDV are again on teh ground - they are light infantry at best with limited mechanised support ; its one reason they got smashed up the first time

I'm not 100% on the details but I believe much of what was left after the withdrawal from the north were reconstituted/consolidated into the 106th and sent into the south a few months back - currently north of Bakhmut. Supposedly now operating T-72B3s, T-62s (mostly from defensive positions) and various artillery including TOS-1 systems as well as BMD-4Ms. (Basically rebuilt as a regular mechanised infantry division).
