It's interesting that he's not already. He's been critical of the war, the Russian leadership and military, yet he's still breathing.
He's been publicly critical of Putin's flunkies, which work's well for Putin because if they lose the war he has his scapegoats set up in advance.

He's also been criticising Putin, but for not going hard enough against against Ukraine which is fine, comically it is the same position taken by the main Russian opposition party.

His Wagner group took Bakhmut and won a victory for Russia, I'd say that makes him rather popular
He took a pile of rubble of said name for more lives than the city had residents pre-war, 'victory' indeed.

Said pile of rubble is also rather disadvantaged by the fact that Ukraine has higher ground from which to launch assaults from.

Which party is that if you don't mind me asking?

Mr Cook is only saying that army and its generals are not doing enough to support him. Where everyone knows that he is Mr no one and been sent by bunker rat.

Imagine the torque and acceleration though. Plus, quiet.

yes but it requires a lot of logistics. If you are swapping out battery packs then the tank is vulnerable while that is happening, unlike being refuelled where you just disconnect the hose and scoot if you are located. Also all these battery packs need to be charged somewhere, that will require a huge supply of electricity, take that out and you've a lot of useless metal. I love the idea of it but it seems crazy when without electricity your tank fleet is dead.

Electric final drive tanks are actually a good idea. Look at the next Abrams

Now that makes a lot of sense

You'd have a support unit for it (tanks don't just operate alone), potentially with the ability to generate it from solar as well as probably diesel generators :s maybe even portable mini reactors though that raises some issues. (You could even have steam powered generators allowing you to burn stuff in the field in an emergency).

These are 50 tonne plus vehicles. You aren't charging them with solar, well not without the solar taking up huge areas of land and they'd be easy targets for enemy missiles. Musk has this problem with his Tesla Semi, they require huge amounts of electricity and the infrastructure just can't handle it, power stations can't either, they already have brownout problems, now add the mega watts required for these huge charging stations.

The MAKS air show in Moscow is will not be held this year

The MoscowTimes states the reason is security risks of aircraft being targeted and a lack of spare aircraft to make the show worthwhile to see

The factor people are missing is the [often] nature of war - heavy armour use tends to be quite bursty between which a lot of time spent laid up, lurking or doing shorter manoeuvres, etc. you can use relatively moderate rapidly deployed solar setups behind the frontlines (yes they are a potential target and a relatively easy one to disable at that) to supplement and reduce consumption of diesel or other fuels and/or so at least you have some capacity in an emergency - especially if you have the ability to rapidly swap out the power packs which can be charged in the down time away from the frontlines. Obviously this is somewhat situational as a situation like Mariupol for instance it rapidly becomes untenable but then you are going to be having issues with fuel supplies as well.

I wonder if a hybrid drive would be best.
Having storable solar panels to charge the batteries, not for movement (maybe a small amount), but the electronics and weapons systems. Mostly for emergencies or when considered in a safe area. No need to run engine for the ac and could be a godsend should you find yourself stuck with no refuel. Also the tank could operate as the home base for its small fleet of autonomous drones which i think they showed for that Abram x. They’d be able to keep those up 24/7 watching. That’s the way I see most armoured vehicles going, land based aircraft carriers for their fleets of little scary killers.

Pft, here’s me giving away multi billion $ ideas for nowt on the internet ;)

Interesting that some people think Prighozin is on a bit of a charm offensive and wants to be the next Russian leader. Personally I think he's more likely to end up dead.
Theres a little thing called an election in the way of that and the trouble is all the ballot papers have Putins name on them with the boxes pre-filled

He has a private army and lord knows how many mercenaries to surround and be his personal bodyguard just like Putin, the moment he loses that he's a dead man walking
