Car goes burrrrrrr… Gordon Murray likes that, but only in reverse

The air-skirt days of F1 were a little before my time, but looking back they would have been my fave… that point where they had no real limits and they were pushing crazy ideas to develop the tech in weird ways… that’s what F1 should be in my eyes… not this modern crap where the limits are so strict…

All other racing series have that in place… F1 was supposed to be the “let’s see what we can really do” side of motorsport… then they killed it… now LMP1 and the new hyperclass is much more interesting. But even there… the records the 919 tribute set everywhere after it was retired and Porsche decided to de-restrict it… that’s the real F1/LMP1 I wish we had :(

Last time I enjoyed F1 was the silly side of Schumacher starting the race from the pits and winning… was so much fun to watch, even if clear imbalance… but best driver and best car combo is amazing… not this annoying side of Hamilton… best car but bad driver winning everything. That’s terrible. So funny to see him complaining so much now Mercedes don’t build the best car anymore after these last few rule changes

Hamilton isn't a bad driver, but he is no Schumacher or Senna really. They could get on with it even when they didn't have the best car, not complain about it. He doesn't have the same presence as the old greats.

Walked past this on the way to work. Somebody is going to need more than a squeegee.

Going by the bent bonnet & the cracks in the bumper and plate, that car is likely pretty mangled behind the grille. Probably has a replacement radiator cable tied to the front sub frame :D

Yeah looks it from the post I've seen. Couldn't make this one as I'm away, but a few of the guys went. A good selection of cars indeed.

Got a good look and sit in a Roma today. The controls and display feel less cramped than I expected. This spec had the default headliner that I would avoid but was otherwise decently Spencer.

That headlight design and that front grille is a horrendously offensive combo given how cool the rest of the car looks!

Reminds me when I had a job interview at Millfield many years ago - performance Porsches were the "poor" student's cars :s can't remember what I was driving at the time but it would have been a hatchback worth less than 3 grand :s seeing 17-18 year olds rolling up in cars more expensive than most people's houses is something else.

Reminds me of school. I went to school with two of the sons of the Portakabin empire and you could never tell what car they were going to be dropped off in at school inc a chauffeur driven rolls Royce. The one in my year got a brand new Fiesta XR2i just to learn to drive in and when he passed his test, he then got a Ferrari and drove himself to school.

Most of us what have killed to have owned the XR2i at the time.
