It's too hot :(

More weather warnings appearing now. Looks like quite a widespread storm. Needed the rain tbh. I can guarantee it’s because I caved in and watered the garden yesterday.

Lovely overnight rain here in South Wales, I'm very pleased. Hopefully it clears the air a bit and cools off a touch - it's been damn near 5 weeks of 19 - 23⁰c which was perfect but last week got a bit too hot for me as it was pushing 31ish :p

I think it’ll just go massively humid again later. The weekend looks hot again.

Same in Liverpool, but forecast currently showing this is a single day's respite. Pushing back up to 26C for the weekend before "cooling off" again to around 22C for the following week.

Can weather be forecasted as far off as a year, heard on news last night they say 2024 will be the most extreme temperatures ever recorded, how can they know this or is it just usually scare everyone guff that the media seems to be hell bent in having everyone in a scared state with end of world gloom.

Weather in general? yes probably via global yearly trends.

Weather on a specific day? no.

You have to expand your data to yearly values to look at patterns across a timespan of years.

There are some major phenomena that are known and predictable- el nino, for example.

That can help with long-term.predictions.

Maybe it's due to el nino starting. Which is a globally hot period.
Weve been in la nina for years which "masks" the true effect of global warming. So yes. Next year could be much worse globally.

El nino = globally above average
La nina = globally below average

If this plays out, except a deluge of doomsday news with record sea warming and perma ice retreat etc
