What happened to Abramovich's funds from the Chelsea sale for example. That would go a nice way to paying for a city rebuild in Ukraine. (A bit of googling suggests the funds from the sale are frozen in a UK bank account).

They are looking in many cases.
But they keep saying they dont believe they can legally seize them

That assumes no outside (Chinese/French/German/<insert countries here>/US intelligence) fiddling..

I'm nervous as hell too and in complete agreement with you as I imagine many here are, but as a previous poster mentioned this is probably good for Ukraine. I mean at worst this is a great tactical distraction? or it could be the first real steps towards an apocalyptic event. Who knows, Morior invictus.

I don't see it. Surely, after this, neither could ever trust the other. Too much window accident threat.
 
Less we forget this is an armed nuclear state with upwards of 4000 nukes facing civil war. How's the doomsday clock looking right now, is it twitchy bum time yet?
 
I hope Ukraines forces are taking real advantage of the situation to press forward. If Russias military leadership are focused on defending Moscow then it's going to be a mess relaying orders to Russians holding out in Ukraine - that's also assuming a load of them aren't being asked to pull back to help defend.

Prisoners with nothing to loose with combat experience and knowing they will be killed if they surrender etc makes it good though
