What flux are you using? Im using (depending on the job and how much I like the person)... either amtech rma-223 or kingbo rma-218 i find them both really decent.

You BEST have taken that Porka to Swanage to collect them? One of my favorite places to drive, pretty much everywhere leading to and from there is a national and freshly paved, barely any traffic after 8pm whatever the day, and zero cops, the town always seems so clean and civilized too, no rubbish/louts shouting/falling in the roads drunk etc...Gentlemen... I give you swanage...
That should be enough pcb's to get me going.

- It's a very long time since I have been to swanage... The came from the US of A 
- And that sir is a very long way to drive!

Mechanic AD-223 according to the packaging. Initially I thought it was watery, but once I got past the first few mm, it seems much better. Looks good to me, although I’m no expert.
Back again but this time with some fun... image dump and im going through giving some context
Finally some alix junk turned up - a load of gg mods, a squirtle shell because i havent done a squirtle yet... and that all important t56 and sop48 adapter - Now my t56 is here I can crack on
First up I'm going to just make a swan cart. I go down the list and see space invaders is on this layout board so that's what im making, its not a translation for now just a normal space invaders swan cart just to make sure i know what im doing. First up we plug in the MX rom chip and just check we can read it and that all is well... of course we are good to go.
So I pull a space invaders rom and things get weird, the swan needs a 4mb rom and space invaders is 1mb so we just need to make it into a 4mb to do that we just open up command prompt, and "copy /p space.ws+space.ws+space.ws+space.ws space_4mb.ws" and boom we have our 4mb rom file which we then write to our chip...
Next up we need our fpga programmed up, the pcb files have a program for this chip so i open up the fpga file, load it into quartus 2 and using my altera blaster dev board i program a chip so far so good!
Chips removed, and ready to put on my pcb:
First one on!
And both chips ready!
Down side im still waiting on filter caps but it should work right?
First mission accomplished, as i say not quite ready yet as I am waiting on some caps etc and then I need to design and 3d print some cart holder things! But so far so good. Next up some translations!

@Vince - what’s the wire you use for jumpers, and could you provide a link to it on eBay or something? Wouldn’t mind getting a bit of that as it would no doubt be handy for the times when I inevitably remove a solder pad - have done several times now trying to remove through hole components!

A. Brilliant threadQuickly stuck it back together while I wait for the remaining parts to arrive
Ill update once its fixed, currently 3d printing a little stand for it!
Ahh you see that was my first GG' I still have it but in a blue case now
- Speaking of which...
Might have fixed and modded quite a few GG's yesterday evening!! The dark blue one is a USA only special edition. Screen was bad so I had to give it some mods!
For its age it is in amazing condition.

Turns out the repair on the mazda key was a success! its apparently doing what it should be - I quite enjoyed it as well was something a bit different.
@rare That power supply is 2 things away from being up for repair - I am building a GG for somebody and I have a switch lite repair for somebody and then it shall be on the bench again. All the caps for it are here lets just hope we can get it all repaired without scratching that finish... being so careful tearing it down but the next bit is going to be a nightmare.
