I just think RB are arrogant enough to think they can keep treating Perez like dirt, whilst enabling Max to be so far ahead of everyone else it doesn’t matter what Perez does. They just want to win the constructors and WDC and with the setup they have currently, it’s fine.

Why I say arrogance - is because if any team gets closer next year they’ll need a proper second driver to protect leads, do alternative strategy and pick up the points for the constructors. But RB won’t realise that until it happens.

I'd say Hubris is maybe a better choice than Arrogance?

Red Bull seem keen on keeping a number 1 / number 2 driver pairing and Perez clearly is happy enough to play that role. I imagine it's quite difficult though to accurately assess a drivers speed to find someone faster than Perez yet not as fast as Verstappen. Still, I agree with your sentiment that Perez could, in future seasons if a team start challenging them, cost Red Bull the WCC

As your clearly not an RB fan I don't understand why your so upset about it. If Perez feels strongly enough then he can go and look for another team.
I'm not upset at all. It just seems some RB fans are blind to it because it puts a downer on their golden boy. They asked me to clarify, so I did.
Do you think there is something still which teams have not worked out, possibly to do with parts of the car flexing which cannot be seen or measured easily?
It's probably a lot of little things but I honestly still wouldn't be surprised if RB are doing something "interesting" with for example the suspension that has not been found out yet. Most teams seem to agree they're so far ahead in getting and keeping the tyres in a good window and that's a massive differentiator.

I am actually surprised.

(That the FIA admitted their mistake  )

Sounds like a lot of drivers were up in arms about those lack of penalties for MV. As the article states some people have had some very serious grid drops for similar.

Has Yuki been confirmed for AT next year yet? not seen anything about it,

Some of the commentators said they expect him to be confirmed this weekend... surely they would have done that by now as they're racing in Japan?
if they're waiting to make an announcement after this weekend then surely it'll be to let him go...
maybe Danny Ric and Lawson for AT next year???

Here's a great new onboard angle. Seems to be on a gyro so you can see the camber of the corners etc. Really adds to the sensation of speed.

They said they would announce it this weekend would be pretty mean to drop a driver at his home GP so I assume it's Yuki and DR next year

I suspect RB will give it half a season and someone's getting replaced with Lawson at AT from either not performing or being promoted to RV if Perez isn't performing

That reminds me of the old over-the-shoulder view we'd sometimes get in the mid 90s. Real shame the halo is blocking 90% of the track though.

Tbh I’m not expecting much this weekend, so will only watch if I hear something unusual happens.
The race will most likely be a dull procession.
I had a look at the track on google earth, seems a bit rubbish around about. The track has probably had its day.
The fia coming out with the stuff about lack of correct penalties just beggars belief, they really are a bunch of hopeless clowns.
