Scuffed Bumper worth getting repaired?

I scuffed my bumper against a wall the other day and used Meguiars Ultimate Compound to get rid of most of the paint transfer and surface scratches so it looks 90% better. However there is one main scratch which went through the clear coat.

I've got quotes from a number of body shops and the best price was £178.50. I can afford this no problem its just a case of whether its necessary as it looks extremely minor to me, except if you look close-up.

The body shop in question will do an excellent job I've no doubt about that but it will also be a bit of an inconvenience to me as they are out of town and I can't have a loan car as I can't park it in the car park where I live as you need a permit.

This means I'll have to catch a bus from and to their workshop which is 5.5 miles away from home. I'd like to get it done but am not sure I'm if I'm just wasting money, I attach photos below. What do you think?

Given that you paid however much for a bit of the car that you can't see (undertray), I can't see why you would even entertain not getting this bit that you can see repaired?

Do you have Smart (Small, Media Area Repair Technology - not the Brand :D) repairers in Jersey? It looks like the sort of repair they can do easily at your home or place of work, rather than it needing to go into an actual bodyshop.
 
I've had good experiences with Chipex touchup kits for stuff like that. Usually around the £40 mark I think, and a DIY job. Pretty easy to do!

Thanks for the advice, there is one SMART mobile repairer here but he needs access to electricity and a safe place to work neither of which I can provide in the car park where I’m parked. He quoted me £175 anyway which is not much different to the actual body shop.
 
Live with it for a month and see what you think then. Personally I think it's minor and wouldn't bother. If I later got another issue that needed attention I might get it done with that.
 
Looks like one of those marks that would annoy me for a couple of weeks, be noticed for a couple more after which I'd be completely blind to it.
 
Yeah the body shops aren’t going anywhere, I don’t need to get it done right now. I’ll leave it for a few weeks to come to terms with it and see how I feel then. At least I have an idea how much it would cost to repair.
 
I'd actually feel a bit embarrassed getting them to repair the damage as its so minor. This is the kind of thing they are used to dealing with and I guess most people would be satisfied with the results I got just using Meguiars Ultimate Compound.

You're right, lots of people wouldn't care about such a minor scrape, but it's your car, so if it bothers you, just get it done.
I really wouldn't feel embarrassed - if the body shop weren't happy taking on such a small job, then they wouldn't have quoted for it. It looks like it's probably a fairly routine repair for them, so they really aren't going to bat an eyelid.

It looks like a fair/reasonable bit of damage to me, it's quite deep and the bottom bit is scuffed.

I feel like most people wouldn’t bother. My gut feeling is that I should just leave it. I’m still in the ****** off, how could I be so stupid stage. I’ll get my head round it eventually.

It’s just a bit of paint damage, I’m not missing parts from under the car. Big difference in my opinion.
 
If it was me i'd avoid taking the cheapest quote you get, decent paint repair isn't cheap and if done poorly it will look worse than it does now.

The one who gave me the best quote are also the ones the Smart main dealer recommends for their customers. I had a cosmetic repair plan for the first three years of ownership and it was through this company. So I have no doubt they would do a good job.

They also are fully booked until early November which is also a good sign.
 
How old is the car? Any other damage? And how long do you intend to keep it for?

Those would probably be my deciding factors on whether to get it repaired.
