Well to be fair the link between USA and Israel is pretty relevant. I have a lot of contempt and dislike for the blind loyalty without any rational thought for those "damned rag heads".

This is why we need unbiased mediators to help with this situation - but many lives will.be lost and more hatred will develop before we get there.

IMO, Hamas have either badly miscalculated and expected others to jump in with them in attacking Israel (with Iranian backing...) or knew full well what the reaction of the Israelis would be and the coming slaughter of innocent Palestinians is of no concern to them.

IMHO, Iran’s pulled Hamas’s strings into doing this knowing full well what the Israeli reaction would be, and they’ve done it deliberately hoping that the Israeli reaction is so extreme that it’ll derail the normalisation of relations/recognition efforts going on between Israel and Gulf countries like Saudi Arabia, UAE etc.

The Palestinians haven't realised something has fundamentally changed in the world since they last kicked off. This is what destroyed ISIS. And this is what will destroy them.
It's called the smartphone and social media.
Suddenly every little war crime is going to spread everywhere. Every executed civilian. Every cheering terrorist. Will be everywhere.
Young German national raped, murdered and dragged through the streets to cheering crowds. The girls identified and the footage is already everywhere in hours. Before, media would censor it, and the girl would remain a footnote weeks down the line. Now every Palestinian Islamic terrorist apologist has to face the fact their buddies executed an innocent girl, stripped her and paraded her defiled corpse in the street to nothing but cheers.
Militants execute families in their home. Before media would censor it and the family would be a footnote in the news weeks down the line. Now we get live footage of bullet ridden corpses of children, brains spread across the floor just like across social media in hours, riddled with thousands of cheering laughing supporters. Palestinian terrorist apologists have to justify the inhumane slaughter of civilians and thousands of people out right celebrating this.
Social media and the smart phone didn't just put a journalist at every corner, they put unfiltered distribution at their finger tips too .The very carefully curated image of the "Palestinians struggle" is going to crumble and the truth that they are nothing but another Islamic state terrorist group will inevitably come out.
Hopefully this will be the final chapter in this conflict. The world can't shy away from the truth any more.

This is exactly right. Hamas dealt the Israelis an extraordinary tactical defeat but because of the reasons you have stated, strategically they have already lost.

While not absolving Israel from its previous actions, and concern about forthcoming actions, anyone who still supports Hamas after this needs to take a serious look at themselves.
