Confirmed they're closing all fan areas at 01:30..... 30 minutes before FP2 due is due to start.
Not a good look for the sport

Pathetic - Honestly I suspect there will be more "drama" to come in terms of the track falling apart etc. It's totally untested for F1 cars hitting 200mph then breaking etc - I can see chunks of tarmac getting dug up in the braking zones etc

sert

It's not just a manhole cover though, the concrete surround gave way.
That doesn’t alter the point I was making, this type of delay has happened before, and I am sure will happen again. People will learn from it and improve for next year.
The manhole cover is just part of it. The whole race buildup has been embarassing. Even Max has commented on it...
I would argue that means we’re on the right path if Max is moaning.

Kicking the fans out, before FP2 starts is out of order.

What a mess. I hope Liberty media learn from this and don't add more stupid street circuits in the future. There are so many amazing proper race circuits around the world that we don't get to see, while they parade this kind of farce.

Simple answer - Money.

I'd rather see Mugello, Nurburgring, Hockenheim, Portimao, Spa, Istanbul, Malaysia year in year out but it doesn't make enough money

The FIA have rejected Ferraris request to not get a grid drop for Carlos due to changing engine parts out of the pool. Due to "Unusual circumstances"

Oooft.

Potential Grid Penalty for Sainz, frankly that's a joke

If I was Fred, I'd be pulling Ferrari out of the race as a result. What an absolutely shocking take from the FIA and kick in the teeth to the team. Does not matter who's car it is.

No, no. That's not right. I was assured on here by many people that the sole purpose of the FIA was to help Ferrari in any and all ways.
