Well that's new

"New" to be seen in action but its something well known about by Western/Ukrainian militaries for a while, and even with civilians reporting on it way back at the start of this year with images from the remains of shot down missiles showing the addition of flare countermeasures having been added.

The "Warzone" section of The Drive website has a lot of well researched and well reported news articles about these things and are a great source of knowledge. This is their recent article about the video clip shown -

This is the original January article mentioning Flares being used by the Kh-101 with photos of the wreckage -

Reading this morning's BEEB report.

The last line

"Russia said Ukrainian air defences were to blame for causing damage to civilian buildings."

Which is no doubt what the Russian people are swallowing. Crazy!

Dear Kremlin,

Not all air defence systems perform like Russian systems. Many are actually functional, serviceable and fit for purpose.

Russians only respect force.

I don't blame the Ukrainians for having enough and making the Russian serfs now suffer and make them realise they are in a real war with real consequences.

After all, these are home grown drones, not Atacms.
NATO and especially the US can't say **** how they use these.

They should swarm Putin's Sochi palace or hit the elites in their Moscow high-rises.

Do two wrongs make a right?

Surprised they don't focus more on just killing the source of the problem eg a missile up putins ass instead of responding with civilian deaths.
I can't agree with Ukraine hitting civilian targets. I do understand why they want to though.

Not nice to see civilian deaths, but Russia been targeting civilians for a long time now.

I think Ukraine been showing massive restraint, it's now turned into you reap what you sow from Ukraine POV.

In just one night, Russia spent on one massive attack on Ukraine: (in rubles)

20 billion more than the annual budget of the entire Ryazan region

Tambov budget for 16 years ahead

17 billion more than all Russian regions will receive for the utility infrastructure systems in 2024

Twice as much as was allocated to all regions of the Russian Federation for updating public transport in 2023

30% more than the Russian Ministry of Health allocates for equipment, repairs and construction of city clinics, district hospitals and rural medical posts

30 billion more than will be allocated for the construction of all schools in 64 regions of Russia
I'd say money well spent and majority of them would agree.

"Their air defence missiles hit our cruise missiles and caused them to hit civilian buildings instead of their intended target!"
"What was their intended target?"
*cough* "Different civilian buildings!"

Do two wrongs make a right?
I think the key difference is that Ukraine attacked some military targets and a couple of drones missed and hit civilian targets which they will no doubt be unhappy/sad about. Russia on the other hand attacked some civilian targets and hit some civilian targets, something they will no doubt be very pleased/happy about.
