******Official Star Citizen / Squadron 42 Thread******

Ive been doing fine with kb and m as i still havent set up my sticks. If you want easy money with the vulture do the personal salvage missions you can get 80k every few minutes by just fracturing the hulls. If im waiting for the next mission to pop up i also disintergrate the hulls and make crc which i sell when i get time, you can fit 23 boxes in the vulture which is another 150kish.

I was doing that anyway as the construction materials pays out so much more over RMC. Zero point in scraping at the moment.

Can you fracture HH on a vulture?

The left stick acts as a throttle so you have to keep it pushed forward or you slow down. Is it not better to remove the spring so you can keep it at any speed without effort?

Is there an OcUK based SC org or Discord?

We have talked about it, , its Pagan, linked below.
Right now there aren't enough people who play it regularly, hopefully that will change as the game gets more playable and complete and more people get interested, personally i think if it is to be the official OCUK Org then it should be named as such so people know what to look for, but a name change it turns out is not a straight for as that.
I'll post the conversation below, for now if people are looking for an OCUK SC Org i suggest they join Pagan, whatever happens members will know through it and this thread.

Dear all to my fellow Star Citizens.

Merry Xmas and a happy new year.

It’s been a great year for this game with the introduction to some important CORE tech and milestones being hit.

The citcom got me super hyped about what’s to come in 2024 and beyond and if they managed to release just 1/3 of what was shown in citcom by this time next year. That would already signify such an amazing 2024.

As the player base in OCUK grows , i think it maybe time we consider creating an actual OCUK org?

I know some of us are in orgs alread(me included ) but the beauty of SC right now is that you can be a member of multiple and i think we should consider a OCUK org and organise say a bi weekly events where most can join?

Anyways cheers to u all and hope for an amazing time in SC next year!!

o7

And to you.

An OcUK org sounds like a good idea.

PAGAN was always intended to be an OCUK org but happy to join another if someone forms one tbh. I'm not precious about orgs, more who I play with when I can actually get on!

TBH - Do we just need someone to create an OCUK SC discord server? I mean that's basically the missing link at the moment, orgs offer nothing in-game really.

Maybe rename and reformat Pagan as the OCUK Org? :)

You can rename orgs but not the spectrum ID I think so in-game the spectrum ID that would show up eventually is "PAGAN" e.g. same as the URL: https://robertsspaceindustries.com/orgs/PAGAN/

OCUK still free, but I won't be able to alter to it: https://robertsspaceindustries.com/orgs/OCUK/

So if people are precious about getting that, I suggest creating an org that has OCUK as the Spectrum ID for it. I can't as my account and my Dads both have org ownership associated with them. (PAGAN / JAVELIN)

k, leave it until after Christmas, we should probably have a proper conversation about it, someone would need to run it or at least be its figure head, i'd rather that remains to be you @Raumarik

Even if we decide to stay with the Pagan URL we should probably get that OCUK URL anyway just to make it unavailable to anyone who doesn't actually intend to use it as an OCUK org, IE this forum.

Do all ships have lights? I had a key bind to turn them on, switched to external view but either the bind wasn't working or the ship (Mustang) doesn't have toggle ones. Assume it doesn't mean the standard blinking ones on wings etc.

Its L on the keyboard, all ships do have lights, yes, or they are supposed to, i don't know about the Mustang, it could be that its not working, check your button bind...... and the other thing is every ship has different lights, some are very bright and work well some are very dim and only work up to about 100 meters.

@humbug We should setup a regular sesh like Fridays 9pm UK time meeting at Seraphim etc.

More people, myself included likely to make an effort then!

Yes, i think that would be good :)

So an interesting writeup (that I've only scanned) has been done which I suggest people have a look at. It's of course unofficial done by the lot doing leaks and news but they claim everything has at least some truth behind it, someone that's confirmed it to their knowledge etc.

"If y’all ain’t swimming in the grains of salt I recommend you take here, then it’s going to be your fault when you get disappointed that a good chunk of this doesn’t end up happening."
"It’s not a controversial thing to say that CIG’s dates; internal, public, promised, planned, etc; are for the most part a suggestion."
"If comments by a number of developers during Citizencon were accurate, then this would mean that SC now has 1-300 more fully focused game staff." - Instead of focused on the single player SQ42.

"
A little more than two months ago, we were shown two days of genuinely affirming demos for a game called Squadron 42. This a game that, while not entirely smooth sailing, has prevailed in marching on despite CIG’s track record of reworking progress. Its leadership now looks to Star Citizen to try and steer it in a similar direction. I cannot overstate how significant of an effort this is, but I also can’t overstate that this is all in active planning. Delays will likely happen, scopes will likely be reduced, plans will likely change, c’est le vie.

No matter what the next year brings however, it’s at least moving in a different direction. Let’s hope they bring on that new start in 3.23!
