best GPU for 1080p @ £300 ish

I linked you a proper review.

6750 XT listings also selling around the £300 mark at the moment, which is also within a few percent of the 3070.

Also you can try your luck offering £300-£320 for this

90 day warranty seems a bit risky

Agree with the last few posts regarding the 3060ti as I recently picked one up and I'm happy with it had I not upgraded to a 1440p monitor I would have stuck with the rx 6600.

That’s my point people are saying buy a 2080ti.. there like 275 to 300
People keep banking on about them been £200 I’d like to see them at that price

Yeah I find that people low key brag/flex saying just pick up xxx card for xxx price that is by far an exception and pretty much any advice about picking cards up in the MM is pretty much useless as the Wanted section here is pretty much dead and the rare occasion a card comes up for a nice price in the forsale section you got to be there within 5 minutes.

369 quid weren't they? That is looking outstanding value nowadays.
Yeh man, I remember staying on discord for 2 weeks during the pandemic and I managed to snag an FE for 369 delivered. As I am only on 1080p and more than happy with that, the 3060Ti will last me a very long time , also I don't really play AAA games anyway as they have been very poor these last few years.

Thought I'd update this thread.

The main thing I would recommend at the moment is the RX 7700 XT for ~£360.

Or a 2nd hand RX 7700 XT with a warranty can be had for just over £300. RX 6700 XT, for less.

A bit above this price point, might as well get the RX 7800 XT, which is a damn good GPU.

8GB on the RTX 5060 TI for ~£360 isn't really ideal.

There's also this Intel GPU for around £250:

Which should win on performance per £. Looking at the product reviews, people seem happy with it.

Will be interesting to see if Intel can offer a price competitive product at the mid/high end.

I wouldn't expect much more than RTX 3070 /RX 7700 XT level performance:

That's because in terms of spec, this GPU is apparently like 50% of a RX 9070 XT. That's not a bad amount of performance though, so whether to buy will mostly depend on pricing. Pricing on the RX 9070 isn't particularly affordable, so I wouldn't expect miracles (£400 + seems likely).

The clock frequencies are around 8% higher though, so I suppose you could get a little more than half the performance.

Something with more than 8gb VRAM I'm looking to replace my 3060ti not because it doesn't have the processing power in most games I play at 1080p but because I'm having more and more issues with games with running out of VRAM

This is such a pointless article. I suppose they forgot about Intel’s B580, available currently for £249. It’s not 16GB, but 12GB is enough for the level they are aiming at (1080p).

And the price difference is probably going to be between £100-£150 if buying the RX 9060 XT 16GB.

I kind of get it if you need a 16GB card for video processing / non gaming tasks.

But Intel’s Arc A770 16GB already does this for less money. You can get them 2nd hand with a warranty for ~£210.

A 2nd hand RX 6800 16GB with warranty* is around £320.

Or, you can get a new RX 7600 XT with 16GB for £300.

* probably the best buy for gamers or professionals, at the moment at this price point.

Since a scaled up Battlemage B580 (low-mid end card) is said to be coming late this year, it could end up being quite powerful. Presumably it would have around a 60% increase in shading units, and 16GB of VRAM (succeeding the Alchemist A770):

Could be worth the wait.

Well, the RX 9060 XT may be better than I thought, at least from a price/performance view- Performance data:

RX9060XT-LEAK-2.jpg

If AMD can sell these for £270-£280, they should beat everything else for this money, when running at 1080p resolution.

Meanwhile, the RTX 5060 TI 16GB version is ~£400, so different price segment really.

The performance of the card compares favourably to older cards like the RTX 3070 and RX 7600 XT 16GB.

EDIT - Oops - I missed that the £270 RX 9060 XT is a 8GB model… Makes sense.

Still, if they can release a 16GB model for £300, that wouldn’t be a bad deal.

For that money, it should provide decent performance, that would be faster than a Series X GPU (we already know cards like the RX 7700 XT are faster). The Series X GPU has more memory bandwidth, but lacks a large L3 cache.

For a 12GB card, the 7700 XT was always a bit overpriced (some models are still priced >£400) so hopefully the 9060 XT will be more competitive.
