Show us your kitty cats

Just a little story here.

Some of you may remember that I have posted several pics on here of a cat that I call Jeremy. He just wandered in to my house one day. To cut a long story short, after a few months, his owner signed him over to me, because he stopped going to his "true home". So, Jeremy joined my little band here, Thomas, a stray that lives in my sun-lounge, Emily, a rescue cat that I adopted (who is the same age as Jeremy.).
Jeremy originally lived with his mum, brother and sister and we (his original owner and I) always wondered why he left his family home. I assumed it was because he found and liked my Emily, but sharing photos, we had an OMG moment, and we found out why Jeremy was here - Thomas is his dad.

That's a Jeremy Kyle episode if it was still going.

Our kitty is having a vet trip later today.

She's developed an occasional wheezy cough and has noticeably stopped really purring when she comes for attention. She's not belted around like a nutter for a little while either.

She's definitely not 100%, not sure if it's a bug, asthma or what (best not to Google too much as it'll be everything from nothing at all to killy death death disease).

Anyway, at 18 it's best to get her checked out. The older she gets, the more I worry.

Fingers crossed for you its nothing to worry about.

Google is hopeless for humans and animals alike. It's especially bad for animals because there are plenty of conditions that are common abroad but extremely uncommon in the UK .

In passing, when was the last time she belted around like a nutter? Six years ago? I mean, I think you expect too much for 18. In cat years that's like 80! Hahahaha!

Seriously, my thoughts are with you, I hope the little rascal is just fine and it's nothing serious.

Oh unless she's a bit under the weather she belts around upstairs once or twice a week! You can hear the thunderous pounding of her paws downstairs :)

But yeah, she's an oldie, so it's generally less than a minute or two of nuttiness and then straight on to the bed for a nap.

But thanks @SpellowHouse and thanks @Colonel_Klinck (hope you're doing ok after your sad loss btw).

Cats. Stressful little buggers.

So I went to meet these 2 little rascals today. Both incredibly sweet, only 8 weeks on Monday coming so not quite really to leave yet. I put a deposit on one of them but I'm tempted to take both. Mum was a little shy but grand mum was very sweet and the owner was really nice, the cats/kittens were clearly well looked after and loved. There is a little of me that thinks is it too soon but I love having a cat so I'm getting back in the saddle.

AWWWWW!!

How much did you pay? I'LL DOUBLE IT! And take them both. Ha! They are so cute.
Little bundles of energy.
I don't want to put thoughts in your head, but if you want more than one cat, then two siblings are far more likely to get on than two from different parents.

We already have a Norwegian Forest cat Oscar but he's only 3 and he loves other cats so I don't think he'll have an issue with a kitten, in fact I'd expect him to be well chuffed. He always wanted to be best mates and cuddle with my cat but he wasn't having any of it and merely tolerated Oscar, he was a proper softy with humans but the opposite with other cats.

So kitty's back from the vet with some antibiotics to start with.

Heart fine, lungs fine. Teeth may need a clean again apparently (not been long since she had them done). Lost a couple of hundred grams of weight over the past 6 months which I'm not comfortable with.

Next step may be antihistamines, we'll see how the antibiotics work.

Twice a day for a week, that'll be fun for all concerned. At least it's not as daunting as to when we had to put drops in her ears twice a day for a fortnight....

We all still have PTSD from that :)

Hopefully it all turns out ok, our cat had really bad cough for few weeks and after antibiotics it went away. Still couldn't help but think the worst.

I found crushing them and mixing with some tuna (not in brine version) always did the trick and they wolf it down.

Thanks for the tip but it's actually liquid we've been given so that at least makes it easier.

Well, so long as we can pin her down and get the syringe in ok :)
