Show us your kitty cats

It's amazing how men go soo soft for their cats(pets), my wife always says I have more feelings for animals compared to feelings for humans.
That's because they are small, fluffy and do stupid things to keep you entertained.

I have sat here this evening watching Luna run around in circles trying to catch her tail to finally get it and then start biting it. She then stops for a few seconds and then repeats the steps again.

I do wonder what goes on in their minds at times as Luna and Astral do not have a single braincell between them

I'm not going to lie, I cried more about losing my boy last week than I did my parents last year. Both my parents were old, not mentally with us anymore so it was a mercy and sadly we didn't have a relationship that I see friends have with theirs but I did wonder why I wasn't following what is expected when your parents die by being really upset. It did make me question things about myself but then last week I was completely overcome with grief and I knew its just different and we can have amazing relationships with our pets that goes beyond what should seem possible. That unconditional love they give you can touch your soul. I've always been a sucker for my pets though.

My boy literally saved me last year when I adopted him. Was in a dark place and let's just say got close at one point and ended up in hospital.

Now I have him and I have something to be here for, he's my little rock and when I come home from work and he's waiting for me or he jumps on my lap gets comfy and just looks at me with the most cutest face ever and meows while looking directly at me like "love ya dad" and goes to sleep or wants pets, my heart melts.

I've never had such a connection with humans (generally despise and try to stay away from people). he's a very, very...very talkative boy which is cute and anoyying at the same time specially at 5am in the morning. But I feel I know what he wants just by the type of sound he's making (not always food haha) He's very fond of laying down on me and going to sleep while I slowly stroke him, engine going full throttle, which is just so sweet.

Had cats while growing up but they where family cats, still felt a connection to them (specifically one who spent most her time with me and insisted to sleep on my bed every night) but it's not the same. Ron is MY first companion, who I chose out of the many at the shelter. He's the only grandbaby my parents are getting from me haha

Its a shame they are only around for so long :(

My first few days with him,had me wrapped around his little paw

It is amazing how strong a connection they can make with us. Glad he come into your life.

They are brother and sister, both will be 6 months old on 2nd of march :)

Bella is currently only 2.84kg, so quite dinky in comparison.

I reckon Bluey will hit at least 8kg when fully grown.

Bella is off to the vet for a checkup for her spaying tonight, not looking forward to it. She hates the pet carrier and car journey :(

Emily had to wait an extra month, she was only 2Kg when she was 6 months, and considered too small for the operation.

So kitty ate some treats and a bit of tuna and cooked chicken last night so that's positive.

She also had a healthy dump this morning. I never thought I'd be so pleased to see a turd.

Hopefully she's slowly on the mend, vet cancelled for now as it's a fine balance as she gets stressed going there. Doesn't like getting in the box to go but as soon as she's there she tries to get back in it. :)

Ah yes, the vet did say they need to be over 2kg or the anaesthetic can be dangerous.

I guess Bella only seems small as Bluey is so big.

She is much livelier today! Chasing round with Bluey again. Trying to limit it as I don't want a burst stitch.

I think that's true of many "crazy cat people". Lack of trust in humans, for many different reasons, ends up in them trusting animals more. Pets are uncomplicated in that respect. They either trust you or they don't. They don't play emotional games.

I was given a cone just in case, but she's been fine without out it so far. She's left the wound alone. Keeping a close eye on her though.

It's funny, they don't seem to bother with cones and stuff these days.

Emily was back to full-on play within hours. She did get a little bubble of fluid, which the vet explained was a reaction to irritation from the internal stitches, but this is easy to distinguish because it disappears when they are on their back. I did think of renaming her "bubble", lol. Not for long, though, don't think she would appreciate being called that all her life.

I was advised to have the cone, but I researched on the net and found many people weren't bothering with it these days. The vet did say it wasn't mandatory.

I think the surgery is better and the wound smaller with better stitches these days. A cone is just precaution. I feel the cone can cause as much trauma as the operation. Depends on the cat though, some aren't so bothered.

You are very probably right and I agree that it's better not to use one. They make life very difficult and cause distress. Emily paid absolutely no attention to her tummy after the op. Nor do the boys pay attention to their wounds, I might add.
