GPU Prices Suck. This Is What They SHOULD Have Cost

I'm hoping some midrange sensible pricing may appear.

The 4080 is like 1k,so £500 would be pretty cheap

I would not call 7900 XTX or less performance for £500-£600 cheap. That kind of performance should have been that price this gen for god sakes.

In my book if AMD cannot achieve that this coming gen it would be a huge disappointment. Not sure why people are even comparing it to 4800 anyway. Unless they are saying the RT performance and AI upscaling performance will match also.

I'm done with chasing framerate and ultra graphics now. SteamDeck is where it's at now. There are hundreds of older games that play well on the Steam Deck that I have been working my way through. Not played a single game on my 3060ti rig since I got the Steam Deck last Xmas and I am playing games more than ever. I have played it every single day since I got it whereas before I was lucky to play two days out of 7. Currently playing Waverace 64 and it is amazing on the Deck.

£500+ GPU's are a thing of the past for me now.

Were still in the milking phase for 4K. 4k is still not normal for a lot of pc gamers. So you can charge more. Then the more you charge the longer it takes, then the more you charge...

PS5 not getting a price cut which is unprecedented, PS5 pro coming in at a higher price point. This is the world now I'll be happy if the prices don't increase further from the 4000 series.

NV-the price setter sets the pricing and the competitors lower it if their competing products are good enough ie disruptive to the point you lose sales.

AMD's increasing its market share in the dgpu space, making NV drop pricing from the 4070 upwards because their losing sales.

AMD forced NV to increase the 70 Ti's 'plenty' 12Gb to 16Gb because it was and still is anything but plenty in the performance bracket it occupies.

How NV managed to add an extra 4Gb without increasing the price will remain a mystery for some but not for others.;):p

But some of those Nv users that can't work out the free 4Gb extra are still wanting AMD even cheaper because they need NV tech but don't want to pay up for it....yep.

Were still in the milking phase for 4K. 4k is still not normal for a lot of pc gamers.

According to the Steam hardware survey, 3.5% of gamers game at 4k. That doesn't sound like a lot but remember that that's still 3.5% of 120 million users, so over 4 million gamers, and that's just those on Steam.
