I think they have now pushed the Pro's well beyond the needs of the average user. Air will now do for most I would say. Great kit though.

Looks lovely but zero chance I can justify the almost £3000 for a 1TB Cellular model - might take a look at a new iPad Air though

Thats why I thought it might at least get a price drop, i think there is more of a use case for it now more than ever at a cheaper price.

Apple probably doesn't want to cannibalise the base iPad sales.

That CPU is completely and utterly pointless and won't be able to run anywhere near it's full potential for any meaningful amount of time as there is no active cooling.

The M2 iPad Pro can't do anything in Lightroom or other CPU-intensive apps without overheating and dimming the screen within minutes of usage.

It's like putting a V12 engine in a car with no cooling and then having a power limiter that cuts in after 10 seconds of driving round a track.

It kinda feels like the "Pro" line is very much being marketed at the high end at Creative Professionals, etc who really, really need it with the Air now becoming the more general iPad for most people.

New iPad Air isn't much different to my M1 Air, only with M2 chip, Wifi 6E and compatible with new Pencil. Same screen type and £150 more than mine.

Come to think of it, I got a bargain when I got mine for like £469.

I think thats it exactly but i think there is room for something that fits between iphone and standard size ipad as a consumption and note taking device. the fact they havent updated it suggests I'm wrong though!!

It was said that the M4 has M2 power for a quarter the power consumption. I'm assuming that will mean it runs cooler too
