That CPU is completely and utterly pointless and won't be able to run anywhere near it's full potential for any meaningful amount of time as there is no active cooling.

The M2 iPad Pro can't do anything in Lightroom or other CPU-intensive apps without overheating and dimming the screen within minutes of usage.

It's like putting a V12 engine in a car with no cooling and then having a power limiter that cuts in after 10 seconds of driving round a track.
 
It kinda feels like the "Pro" line is very much being marketed at the high end at Creative Professionals, etc who really, really need it with the Air now becoming the more general iPad for most people.
 
New iPad Air isn't much different to my M1 Air, only with M2 chip, Wifi 6E and compatible with new Pencil. Same screen type and £150 more than mine.

Come to think of it, I got a bargain when I got mine for like £469.

It was said that the M4 has M2 power for a quarter the power consumption. I'm assuming that will mean it runs cooler too
