Energy Prices (Strictly NO referrals!)

Looks like I'm having "days out" for the next few days! Going to be cheaper eating out!
I mean, if you want to pay a lot more money, do that :p

A 2.5kW oven on for an hour will use less than 1.5kWh (assuming 10 minute warm up and then half-half split of element on/off for the rest), which is a total cost of 37.5p at 25p/kWh SVR or 75p at 50p/kWh. Even at the £1/kWh cap (which is getting hit tomorrow  ) it's still only £1.50 - eating out is going to cost you way more than the £1.12 difference there :p

Official pricing out now. My region shows 61p/kWh or above from 07:30, hitting the £1/kWh cap from 15:30-19:00
Aye, getting taking to the cleaners on Agile in London tomorrow! Smashing the ceiling between 4 and 7pm!

Surely this can't be all attributable to maintenance or other activities on infrastructure?!

No wind and cold weather across Europe.. remember agile and tracker are exposed to day ahead prices, no hedging.

Fair point. Looks like a shocker for the foreseeable then! Unsure whether to jump to another tariff or even another provider but in fairness, I've saved considerably over the course with Octo.

Tracker and agile are just functioning more like we would expect them to this winter now the energy market has somewhat normalised.

I dont tend to look at the day to day prices on tracker. I look at the average over the month. Which has been way below price cap so far.

The amount I've saved over summer far outweighs the higher prices so far this winter.

Its only been marginally under the cap over the past month on a day to day basis….one real low day skews the figures somewhat

Yeah but the time I've been on the tracker, even over the last 6 months my average a month has been about 16-18p which was well below the cap, even November was only 20p average. So it will take a fairly long period of high prices to counteract the savings

Really….. because the last 6mths for mine in south wales, which is normally slightly cheaper than other regions when i look at the tracker data for other regions. My costs is 20.12 over the last 6 months.

So where do you live to get an average of 16 - 18p???

And the savings are only there if you have a regular import of leccy, if you use more leccy during the lower price it negates the savings, as your using more.

Me personally i have an average of 5kwhs import, due to having solar so dont get the high/low spike usage.

I live in the west midlands.

Are we on about the same tariff?

I'm on about the standard day tracker tariff where it is set for 24hrs, not the agile one where it changes multiple times throughout the day.

I joined tracker back around March and I've just checked most bills between then and now, and it ranged 16-20p, and my standing charge has also been cheaper than any of the capped/fixed tariffs.
