Rosie Jones

never heard of her, I bet it;s someone the bbc are pushing.
women seem to do better at comedy series than stand up.

people pay money to see these folks, but maybe it's a particular demographic like strictly or swift - kings new clothes.

Equally heard a podcast with funny sarah pasco last week - who amusingly said that her family got ***** off with her prostituting aspects of their relationship in her act;

(rip genuinely funny Mr Slattery)

I'm going to presume you don't watch mainstream TV, like ever? Or perhaps you don't live in the UK? She's been all over it for a few years now on various shows, unfortunately, she's been pretty hard to miss! I actively try and avoid anything she's in.

That's the thing, they don't really go and see her shows. When I looked at her tour dates and venues last year, most were tiny gigs, most seats were available and they were all dirt cheap, like ten or fifteen quid. She doesn't command big audiences.

I turn off being those with Rosie Jones in.
I turn off anything she's on, she may be a great writer but she simply can't deliver anything comedic. She was just about bearable on Pointless where she was just answering questions and not trying to be funny.

Pretty much the same, which lucky for me as a casual TV viewer doesn't happen often.

I suspect her TV exposure probably harms her gig sales, people can see for themselves if they’ll get along with her brand of humour before they part cash.

Absolutely awful. Only on the tv for obvious reasons. Feel sorry for the girl in fairness as she’s being led to believe she’s hilarious by bosses so they can tick a box.

Yeah his observational comedy is terrible.

Is there a thread for Chris McCausland? Cos I don't find him even accidentally funny.
I saw him a week or two back on The Last Leg and I think even they were a bit shocked about how blunt and crude some of things he said about the Olympics I think it was. I thought he was hilarious, both at what he said and the moment of silence before some nervous laughter from the other guests wandering if they should be laughing or not :cry:.

I've got tickets for him in Chester, I can't wait.
