Rosie Jones

I watched an episode of The Weakest Link over the Christmas period featuring one of the most unattractive sporting people this country has ever produced. This person looks like they fell out of an ugly tree at birth, hit every branch on the way down and was attacked by a badger when they were laying on the ground.

When one of the other contestants voted for this person, they said (and I quote): "I know you got one wrong, that's the only reason 'cos you're gorgeous".

People need to stop doing this. We need to stop telling people that they're attractive when they're not. We need to stop telling people they're funny when they're not. It's as though it's impossible to say anything negative now for the fear of being ostracised or 'cancelled'.
Really good post, i mean what a load of crap! :P

Yup, being a typical man, I don't really understand what and when its appropriate to say anything anymore, so I'll either not say anything, or just avoid most people in general outside of my usual circles.

At work I basically just don't talk to anyone.

But you’ll shout at an old man in a pub because his dog made a bit of noise. El oh el.

That's different though.

Because I was quite clearly aggravated, so if there had been consequences eg landlord kicked us out or whatever then fair enough.

It's when you don't mean to offend or something that gets interpreted as something else and it lands you in trouble it what I have a problem with.

still would after the badger had finished.

This is how to do disabled funny.

Big Fat Quiz has been an annual tradition in our household but, like many on here it seems, we had to pass this year.

Anyone up for crowdfunding an edited version?

Whether she's funny or not is irrelevant really, she's technically a poor comedian.

Funny is subjective, the technical skill isn't, Peter Kay's act is basically a load of average dad jokes, but you can't deny he's honed his stagecraft to perfection, Stewart Lee is marmite to the extreme, but his talent for constructing sets, timing and pacing is plain to see.

Some might say that making comments about someone’s physical appearance that may be a result of their disability is the wrong side of acceptable and is de facto bullying.

But making similar comments to able-bodied people is a-ok even though both (with the exception of fatness) are outwith the control of that person?
