I actually didn't mind season 3, yes there is a lot of beating around the bush and the actual meat of it could be condensed down - often key bits only happening towards the end of each episode but I think the premise suits a slow boil - like Westworld it will really struggle once they bring current threads to a conclusion (or run out of road without being able to bring them to a decent conclusion).

Edit - misread what you wrote.

S3 was just lots of pointless wasted time. Lots of wasted dialogue, barking up wrong trees, literally. They basically dragged out one or two episodes over a whole season!

It's not even close to Westworld!? Although tricky to follow at times at least there was something to follow in Westworld.

Didn't say it was, just that like Westworld once they start tying up threads it will be very hard to avoid losing a lot of what makes the show.

Season 1 was good but then downhill from there. Later episodes much doesn't happen then bang they drop cliffhangers to keep you watching. I won't be continuing.

I've not long finished the first three seasons so I'm really looking forward to this. It may have the same producers as Lost but this feels more condensed and more exciting as a result. As for whether we will eventually get answers, I doubt it as they would be too far out to be believable, they will just leave us wondering and I'm ok with that.

While it doesn't have the flair of Lost they've taken some of the better aspects of the initial setup in Lost and refined and drawn them out more, though sometimes it gets a bit into the more fantastical side of a Stephen King kind of style which loses me when it gets a bit too strange and detached from reality - usually because the writers ran out of imagination.

Me and my wife find the lack of progress slightly annoying but we also can't stop watching it :o

Reminds me of where I always felt Terra Nova went wrong - it rushed to progress the story rather than immersing the viewer in the concept, though it does make a show a bit Marmite in that some people will be put off by the lack of progress.

New season starts this Sunday and it's been renewed for the 5th, and final, season - so at least there is going to be a conclusion and not be drawn out forever!
