What a farce this is becoming. Really hope they don't screw this up. Played a load of stalker 2 and Indiana jones over the weekend and my gre holds up very well so I think the new card fever might be dying down for me, so I am happy to sit and watch but it really is turning into a circus on both sides.

retailer who has 9070XT and 9070 cards in stock provides some more information on the situation
*snip*
From the prices alone you can see why AMD could not announce this at CES. $899 for the 9070XT is brutal, the 5070ti at $749 completely ruined it
*snip*
There are other mentions of pricing being too high:

If the pricing was lower AMD would have launched now and made Nvidia look stupid. But they have not and these cards look huge and not cheap to make. They look more like RX7900/RX6800 series cards in terms of PCB size, cooler size, amount of power connectors, etc. The last time they played these games was with Vega 56 and their limited launch pricing.
AMD might be sandbagging about their real performance, but after the RX7900XT fiasco and Zen5 I will only believe it when it happens.
Well, rumour (mostly from one poster on AT who is always 100% sure of everything - even when they were wrong!) is that Lisa Su is there one who cancelled big RDNA4. And with the way GPU mindshare works halo or high-end is super important. Sounded like the usual Su penny-pinching (although without Nvidia's huge professional market big RDNA4 might never have paid for itself).Until they gut the Radeon product & marketing departments they will continue making the same mistakes. These people have demonstrated their incompetence over and over again, they're not all of a sudden going to smarten up and become winners. Lisa Su needs to find her courage and make big changes for AMD GPU.
Margins over everything!Triple A games companies must love these prices, AMD and Nvidia might be happy with margin but if you're spending 100s of millions on pushing state-of-the-art games you need volume to create the user base to make your money back or why bother
It's funny because (and I can't remember for the life of me where I saw/heard it) there's another rumour that Jack Huynh was the one who pulled the plug on big RDNA4 shortly after he was appointed in his position.Well, rumour (mostly from one poster on AT who is always 100% sure of everything - even when they were wrong!) is that Lisa Su is there one who cancelled big RDNA4. Rumour Mill indeed! Perhaps we'll get some leaks on who photocopied their arse at the AMD Xmas party soon (my money's on Frank Azor).
She reminds me of Amy Farrah Fowler. LolNah, its Lisa, she's prim and proper, until she's drunk.....

It better not cost more than £350!!!Theres another "rumour mill" post from some account on twitter claiming that the UDNA gpu isn't big enough to compete with the 5090.
This actually got posted as a source in some articles....

AMD's next-gen flagship UDNA Radeon GPU won't be as powerful as the GeForce RTX 5090
AMD is set to return to the high-end enthusiast GPU market with its next-gen unified UDNA architecture, however it could still fall short of the RTX 5090.www.tweaktown.com

It really has go to the point now where anyone can make an account, spout some bs and some tech site desperate for clicks will pick up on it and post it like its somehow legit.
Then AMD are not returning to enthusiast segment with UDNA.
"Then" being the caveat for the rumour being true, be that as claimed 'then' no, AMD would not be competing with the 5090 at that stage.Because that account says so?

Coming out hot on the heels of the £400 5060 8gb.If its slated for 2026 which it apparently is, nvidia could have a ti or titan 5090 by that point.
