*** The AMD RDNA 4 Rumour Mill ***

Am i the only one who reads "closer to the 7900xt" as under £650? Since that's what the 7900xt goes for? I'm not sure where this jump to 899 came from
There’s a 7900xt that’s currently priced elsewhere for £600. So why would the new card command a £100 premium just for FSR4?

Huh? I'm not saying it should, I just don't understand why people have decided this guy meant the price was going to be 899? When he said "the price will be closer the to 7900xt"

And if they were going to price it at the 7900xt and are coming down from that its good. I dunno, I think people are jumping on any scrap of information at this point even the stuff that makes no sense.

Didn't the 7900XT launch around the £900 price mark? Maybe AMD are trying to price based on thier previous launch whilst factoring in the RTC 5070 and RTX 5070TI prices. If they go by the the 7900XT launch price then I can see the 9070XT being about £700 to £750, just a speculative thought. However i do want to see the 9060 range announced as a focus on 1440p gaming along side the launch of the 9070's. I can only dream! :D

I feel like Frank should get a new job as a firefighter. The good things we've heard about these GPUs are from him and we don't know how much of that is biased AMD PR speak that needs salt poured on it.

Exactly my point... no clue if the retailer meant current 7900XT prices or release. Current prices make sense, release RRP seems guaranteed to fail, though Frank says it's not the latter. Just know for sure, AMD will definitely compare to release RRPs in slides and their official comparisons to show these in the best light possible.

The guy has the RX 9070 XT Red Devil Limited Edition in front of him, isnt he talking about that card as we all know how much of a premium they go for.

Anyway if the 9070's are more than $550 then I'll just grab a 5070, still at 1080p but running 4 displays, I dont need anything more than a 5070 to be honest.

It depends on what price the guy means. Is he talking about the launch price of the 7900 XT or the current lowest price you can buy one for today.

I guess most people would reasonably assume what with him being an AMD rep that he's talking about AMD's first party 7900 XT, that's probably where the $899 comes from.

FSR4 files are available

Users who know what to look for have analysed them and come to the conclusion that FSR4 relies heavily on FP8; which means RDNA3 unlikely to support FSR4, but if it ever does, like maybe someone hacks it in to force it, it will run poorly and have much lower framerate

Nice to have the option to turn it on- why not let the user decide.

£699 or more & ~7900 XT performance doesn't seem likely to me. It's got to be cheaper or faster. Despite the leaks, I think we haven't got the full picture yet.
£699 for 7900 XT performance is so far beyond a non starter it would be comical.

I hope there's something we're missing, but a week ago we were still mulling over £550 being too much for this card at that performance level.

Isn't the 9070 a focus on 1440p gaming?
16GB VRAM for 4K in 2025 (until what, the end of 2026)?
Wasn't this a talking point last gen with the 7900XT and XTX having 20Gb and 24GB while the 4080 only had 16GB?

It's going to put 7900 XT/XTX owners in an awkward spot if it outperforms those cards as if they wanted to upgrade they'd be "upgrading" from 20/24GB to 16GB.

Yes it is and I guess we won't see many used 7900 series.

FSR4 comes with 4x MFG to have it beat the 5090..  :D *Kappa* :p
AMD could technically do this, use proprietary MFG software only working on RDNA 4 and as the only solution in whatever sponsored game, and comparing those result to the "inferior" 5090 that cannot use FG in that specific title and claim a win. It would be straight out of nvidias playbook. I would laugh my ass off at first and then sadness would set in, realising that it would now be the empire versus the empire instead of the rebels :P. Just a "fun" thought experiment.
