NVIDIA RTX 50 SERIES - (PRE)ORDER DISCUSSION **NO COMPETITOR HINTING**

pre-ordered a 5080 palit elsewhere, not too much over the FE card but I'm happy enough waiting since it saves the stress of trying to get one when they come in stock for less than 10 seconds.

Went down 1 place today in queue on the other retailer, 74 to 73 for the Gigabyte Gaming OC 5090 and still no dispatch date, there is no news about gigabyte cards anywhere and I also can't find any reviews out there for this card, it's like the card doesn't exist yet

for some reason the astral which is the most expensive is the most desired 50 series card, now why is that?

design? brand? reliability and stability? bragging rights or value retention?
Everybody went 'I really want a 5090 right now, so I'll go for the most expensive one, as it will have fewer people going for it because it's so expensive'

Some places must have got stock from gigabyte though I think. I saw somewhere else had the 5080 aorus waterblock card in stock

A 1000W should be fine, I'd have thought, save perhaps for a couple of the absolute most fancypants overclocked AIB models. For the non-OC Zotac you shouldn't have a problem.
I'm hoping that is the case, though might end up with a different one if I'm quick enough on an alert before the Zotac ships.

I prefer to aim for max 70% PSU usage at full load. I'd sent that PSU back and get something beefier, but keep it PCIe 5.1 spec. NZXT C1500 is a solid and relatively cheap 1500W PSU, I use one of those. But you can go for more expensive options.
Just checked and my 14-day return window closed yesterday. I'll just have to hope it is good enough for now, or try selling it in MM later and buy a different one.

I tried but failed spent too long wondering if it really is easier to ask forgiveness rather than permission (from the wife)

Just trick her into thinking you’re buying her a pony. If you have the skills, you can even double up by twisting it into a guilt trip.

“I said PNY. P-N-Y! gawd it’s always about you isn’t it
