NVIDIA RTX 50 SERIES - (PRE)ORDER DISCUSSION **NO COMPETITOR HINTING**

Nah, they definitely have done in the past. I remember both the competitor and OCUK doing it for the 30 series which had insane queues like the 5090 currently does. The competitor was putting them up on a page like they're doing now, meanwhile Gibbo here was doing routine posts explaining what stock was coming in, and if the queue had been cleared, even offering the opportunity for people to swap to that available card if they want.

The fact is people also cancel if they're getting no updates or progress on where they are in a queue.
There are only two reasonable explanations for the complete lack of comms here (from any vendor): 1) there has been no stock recieved whatsoever, 2) there has been so little stock recieved, they don't want to advertise it. Communicating either point would scare away pre-orders while the resellers sit on people's funds

I looked online, the expectations were for the next re-stock to occur in 2-6 weeks for the 5080, and for even longer for the 5090s.

I'm not sure that's right. My read of what I presume are the same articles is that the stock situation should normalise in 2-6 weeks for the 5080s and longer for the 5090s. Cards are still flowing through the system now, just in small quantities.

5090 Suprim queue is on a go slow. Anybody that got one already is lucky ... *cough*

Managed to sort my old account out and it looks like my temporary one got permabanned. LOL at the little jailed up avatar.

What's the consensus on the best 5090 to get?

I have the 3080 ti FE and I'm a big fan of the aesthetics.

Not sure how easy this will be to get but I'm not in a massive rush.

I don't think every single model has been reviewed yet and what has been reviewed has been spread out amongst different outlets. The only unified metric across them all is they've been compared to the FE.

I was already looking for the Suprim but the reviews of that came out favourably for thermal and acoustics. The Vanguard did ok too. The astral and aorus master did ok but the common theme seemed to be that the 4th fan was inconsequential for cooling and only added extra noise. They look great though

Christ this Astral OC queue is murder.

Went from 181 on launch day to 180 today.

Has nobody told these suckers that the Astral OC is a **** card this generation.
for some reason the astral which is the most expensive is the most desired 50 series card, now why is that?

design? brand? reliability and stability? bragging rights or value retention?

lots of real pro PC builders here I think, so I will ask a question,

I have this PSU : https://www.overclockers.co.uk/be-q...-platinum-modular-power-supply-ca-13z-bq.html

Which is not ATX3 but it runs my 4090, and no issues for 2+ years now with beQuiet 12VHPWR, now my question is do I need to change PSU to ATX3 or ATX 3.1 for 5090 or will this suffice ?
Tried to find any answers online, but nothing specific.
Anyone runs their 5090 on non-ATX3+ PSU ?

I have a preorder of Zotac Solic OC 5090 from OcUK, just want to be 100% ready for it :)
I'm hoping this one will be enough for my 5090 when I finally receive one: https://www.overclockers.co.uk/cors...lar-power-supply-cp-902027-pow-crs-02467.html

Ordered it as an upgrade from my Super Flower 850W (bought back in 2016) ready for buying a 5080, but instead opted to order a 5090. I'm now thinking I should have probably gone for a 1200W+ option instead.

Pre-ordered the 5090 Zotac Solid (non-OC) from OCUK, still kinda hoping I can pick up an FE instead though.

A 1000W should be fine, I'd have thought, save perhaps for a couple of the absolute most fancypants overclocked AIB models. For the non-OC Zotac you shouldn't have a problem.

I prefer to aim for max 70% PSU usage at full load. I'd sent that PSU back and get something beefier, but keep it PCIe 5.1 spec. NZXT C1500 is a solid and relatively cheap 1500W PSU, I use one of those. But you can go for more expensive options.
