What is this? some good news to kick greens bum until its red:

A new rumor suggests that AMD is preparing to launch its Radeon RX 9000 RDNA 4 series of flagship graphics cards with an “aggressive” price to compete with arch rival Nvidia.

I wish they release a 5080 and 5090 equivalent for 25% lower cost

I remember my AMD days, 5980 and the awesome 7970, badass GPUs back then, Red has a chance right now to jump on top

ocuk has quite a few 5080s instock since yesterday but they all gone now, someone bought a 5080 for 4090 money

It's honestly crazy, the amount of people who do zero research when dropping that kind of money.

I get to 500 quid on anything and i'm comparing anything and everything

You clearly didn't watch the video then.. The quality of the cable exceeded OE spec and Der8auer himself said cable isn't to blame..

4090s are pretty much out the equation. £2000+ second hand with no official warranty.

if warranty's are not transferable all u need is the invoice, nearly all of the 4090s still have 2 years warranty left as its still a new card, I sold my 4090 and gave the buyer the original invoice, peace of mind, you can then RMA with your address details

Just behind you at 86. I've moved up 7 places though so that's a fairly narrow range where people have been dropping out.

Maybe. You don't really hear about it been tested. Officially it's the original buyer only. It's just something I wouldn't want to risk personally. Maybe if it was a 500-600 card then it's appropriate to chance it.

There's absolutely no way I'd buy a 5090 from an ebay user, I very much doubt you'll have warranty if the thing melts. TBF, I'm concerned about how they would handle warranty for this on a retail card. I'll leave my pre order in place for now, and wait to hear what Nvidia / board partners say.

The midrange is going to be very interesting in a month or two. 9070 xt is going to perform somewhere around 4080/5070 ti, and if it's priced well e.g. £600, it stands to do very well -- now that's a decent price/performance uptick.

It won't do anything for us suckers who are set on enthusiest tier, unfortunately.

Well the connector and power design is garbage, and Nvidia decided to pump more power through it....

Never use third party cables, it's just not worth adding another company into the mix of liability IMO.

Surely 100 is a minimum delivery size but it's probably 5 at a time

No I did. I'm saying that because that's why they'll try and weasel out of a warranty claim.

I just watched derbauers video on it, very interesting. On his copper block 5090, within the first minute the cable was reaching high temps. After 3 mins or so the gpu plug was 90c and the psu plug was 140c. Also there were 2 cables which were emitting a lot more heat than the others, those cables were also pushing above the rated amperage.

Involving a 3rd party cable would make a warranty claim tricky, they'd use it to refuse a claim despite it being up to spec.

Like almost everyone, I feel they've just gone over a limit in terms of power.
